Sleepover!

Saturday night we went to Colorado Springs and had a sleepover with Kelsey and Alex!  They got a babysitter and we went out to eat at a place called Nosh.

Then we got takeout dessert from Marigold's and brought it home so we could eat it while we played dominos.  We stayed up til about 2:30 am and were all completely exhausted on Sunday!

Sunday morning, the kids woke up and watched some shows.

And just played with all their fun toys, Barrett didn't want to leave!

Meanwhile, Back In Utah...

While we were playing at the zoo and children's museum here in Denver, half of my family was down in St. George having a blast and running races.
My Dad and Sean did the 5k race.  It was Sean's first race.

Livvie did the 1 mile race and she won 3rd place and was the 1st girl!  She is so fast!  This is after the race, her shirt says, "Catch me if you can."

My dad won 2nd in his age group.

Here's all the participants from our family.  The triplets ran a half mile race.
I really wish I could've been there too!

Long Weekend (In a Good Way)

We had a really fun extended weekend.  On Friday, the 3 of us went swimming at the pool at our new gym.  We joined a humongous Lifetime Fitness here not too far from our house.  The building and equipment are super deluxe, but I'm not crazy about the classes/instructors or the daycare, so I don't know for sure how long we'll go to this gym...
The pool is pretty fun though and Bear wanted to stay forever!

Saturday we drove to Colorado Springs to go to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with Kelsey and Alex (they live in Co Springs).  On our way, we wanted to see the Seven Falls, but as you can see, it was closed :(

We found this crazy house with a million giant metal statues in it's yard though.
They were seriously huge and there were probably 10 of them!

Then we went to the zoo and it was so fun!  It was such nice weather but right after we got there, the sun went behind the mountain and we spent the rest of the time freezing.
The best part of the zoo was getting to pet and feed the giraffes!  Remember when we could do that at the Hogle Zoo?  I would've stayed and done that all day!
They even had a baby giraffe.  I don't think that's the baby behind us, but I'm not sure.

It was a really fun zoo with lots of things for kids to play on.

The animals were super active and fun to watch.  There were 2 zebras in this cage and they were running around like crazy and even kicking each other.  It was way fun to watch.  I don't think either of them got hurt.

Barrett wanted to be with Kelsey the whole time!

Lucky for us there were 4 or 5 enclosed areas that smelled awful but let us get warm for a few minutes.

This bear was all over the place!

We got to pet this snake.

This zoo worker was feeding the mountain lion and it was really neat to watch.  See the lion up on the door?

Bear climbing like the gorilla.

They had a baby gorilla too and he was amazingly adorable!  He was only 17 months old and was so playful and cute!  We got some darling video of him playing with his mommy.

We went out to eat after the zoo at Hacienda Colorado.  It was pretty good except it was so spicy my eyelids were sweating!!

On Monday, Kelsey and Alex drove up to us and we went to the Children's Museum.   Unfortunately it was so crowded that we didn't even get to see and do everything there!  We'll go back sometime when it's NOT a public holiday!!
They had a whole bubble room with tons of different bubble things like these enormous bubbles.

And you could even make a bubble around yourself.

Fishing.

He definitely loved these ball tracks.

All the balls in the whole ball room got sucked through tracks that took them all to a bucket up high. Every few minutes the bucket would dump over and spill all the balls out for the kids to get and play with again.
 Pretty fun.

After the museum, we ordered some pho and brought it back to our house to eat and hang out.  I thought this picture of us was funny.

The kids watched a bit of a movie in our bed.

This is just a picture I took of Barrett because he asked me to take his picture.  It's a good thing he likes pictures as much as I do!

Our Denver Apartment

When Neil showed up to this apartment a couple weeks ago, he was pretty unimpressed.  The apartment isn't quite as nice as the ones we've been given in the past so Neil tried to move, but they had already signed our lease I guess.  I chose this apartment because it has a private, attached garage and I'm still very happy about that.  It has a TON of storage space too, and we're only here for 6 months, so it's fine.  It's about 1200 sq feet and about $1800/month I think.  We (well, the company) paid over twice that amount when we lived in Dallas and about 3x that much when we lived in Toronto!  I think they're probably pretty glad this place is so cheap (relatively)!

This is Barrett's room.  He seems to like it.

We had to rearrange living room (and Bear's room too) since we have a little climber baby.  Actually he's not much of a climber, but we didn't want to take any chances!

That's where we eat.

The incredible kitchen.

I'm actually pretty stoked to have an actual laundry room this time.  It's not very big, but all the other apartments were more like laundry closets.

Our bedroom. This bed is massive and I hate it because I freeze at night!

This is our bathroom.  Bear's looks pretty much the same.  The tubs are quite large which is a huge pain for bathing Bear.

Our balcony overlooks a little pond.  We get to see ducks and bunnies all the time.

Checking out the ducks.

We found 3 bunnies that day too.

Another plus is that Neil works close enough that he's able to come home for lunch almost every day.

Our LONG Week

Last week was our last week living in Utah for a while :(  I had big plans for our last few days there and then Barrett got really sick, then he got SUPER duper sick, and now he's just pretty sick.  So top that sickness off with a move to Denver and that's the week we had.  Also, now I'm sick too, but not as sick as Bear, so that's a plus.

This was right before he got sick.  He loves to play in the snow.  We were heading to the gym and he just wanted to be outside playing.

When we got to the gym, he said he wanted to leave his hat on, and when I picked him up, he still had it on.  I thought it was hilarious that he really kept it on the whole time!  I don't know who the baby is next to him, but I know Barrett loves babies!

Bear started playing this matching game and he is so good at it!  All the tiles get laid out, face up, and then he matches them to a card with the same pictures.

Here he is with all his cards matched.

Me, Bear, and my mom flew to Denver on Saturday and Bear was still sick but given the ok to fly by 2 doctors. Up until Saturday, he had had a bad cough, a watery (but not goopy) eye, a super runny nose, and a fever.  On the way to the airport, he added vomiting to the list. Diarrhea followed soon after.  Luckily, he was totally fine ON the airplane.
My mom is the BEST travel partner in the world!  She let Bear use her Bose noise canceling headphones and watch a show on her Kindle.
He sat perfectly still the whole flight.

Since he's been sick forever, he's been getting A LOT of screen time (probably not a lot for some people, but for us it is)!  Once he's all better, we are going to be having major screen detox!

We were all so happy that LaLa came with us to Denver!  She is the biggest help I could ever ask for!

He needed 2 pairs of sunnies on so he could play with the letters on the window.

I'll give you a tour of the house soon.  You'll be amazed... Well, maybe not so much.
