William is 1!

Yesterday was my sister Shelley's birthday and also Neil's nephew William's birthday!  We've haven't had Shelley's party yet because my Mom is out of town and she's the one who throws the parties!
This is William's b-day party at Grandma and Papa's.   Here's the kids getting ready for cake.
He kept trying to touch the flame instead of blow it out, so the cake had to be moved further and further from him.  (or is it farther and farther?)

This was only about half way through the mess of Green Frosting!!

We {heart} Neils

This weekend, my sister made Neil some really delicious cupcakes.  We went over to her house and they were on her counter looking so cute and so YUMMY!

She had to tell us what they meant though.  They mean, We love Neils.  Love Sean, Shelley, Ethan, Alex, Lindsay.  Neil Johnson is a Star.  We love You.
Or something like that.  By the time I thought to take the picture, I had eaten one that had another heart on it (I think) and Neil ate the one that had a gun on it.
They were awesome and beyond thoughtful.
Thanks SSEAL.

No Hole in THIS Heart!

For lack of anything else to post.
migraines and the hole can be hereditary, my dr. wanted to have
me checked out just in case. I had to have an echocardiogram,
where they did an ultrasound on my heart as they injected saline into
it to see if any bubbles passed from one chamber to the other. Neil
didn't take any pictures of that, for obvious reasons. But after the
echo, they strapped this weird thing on my head and injected more
saline, this time checking to see if the bubbles went up to my brain.
Luckily, there is only a teeny tiny hole in my heart that doesn't
need surgery or anything. The tests actually really sucked and I
was passed out for half of what was going on, but at least the
results were positive! Plus, don't I look incredible with that thing squishing my face!?

ohhhhhh.......

During 3rd period today, one of the little office aid girls comes walking in carrying this big box that says ProFlowers on it.  We were busy at the time, so I had to wait until lunch to see what kind of flowers were waiting for me.

Neil sent me these beautiful roses for Valentines Day.  What a sweetheart.
The girls in my classes all were jealous that their 13-year old boyfriends didn't buy them roses for valentines day.  They'll probably get some gross carnation :)  Just kidding, any flower is lovely and makes every girls day, right?!

The best part about them is that they made my whole classroom smell amazing!

Busy Week part 2

On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, my darling cousin Chelsea got married.  Since Neil works in Salt Lake, I thought I would be brave and ride the train down to meet him so he didn't have to drive back and forth all day long (actually it was my Mom's genius plan).
I am a nervous nellie, so I was worried to do this because I'd never been on the FrontRunner before.  But I was determined to be brave and that no one would try to rape me while riding the train.  So I park my car and I'm walking to go see if I can figure out how to buy a ticket, when I hear someone call my name.  Lo and Behold, it is my good friend Jed Smed.  He was going to ride the train to Salt Lake too, so I didn't have to be afraid anymore!  Neil was glad I wasn't coming alone too.
Here's Jed and I.  He had literally (like 4 hours before this) just come back from traveling around South America for a month, so he was FREEZING!
Neil picked me up at the SL train station and we went to Chelsea and Eric's wedding.
Here's 2 of my hottie cousins, Haley and Madison
Chelsea and Eric (the reason the picture is just of the tops of their heads is because there was a lady in front of me and I was trying to see over her big hair!)
She looked so beautiful

A busy week! Part 1

On Sunday we celebrated Seany's b-day with a Dairy Queen ice cream cake, of course!
His birthday was Monday, but we almost always just celebrate on Sundays when the whole family can come.
On Tuesday, my friends threw a baby shower for jenelle and her little baby girl.
She's got about exactly 1 month left.

PLUS- this came in the mail, so I haven't had a lot of time for anything else!!  I'm pretty sure this issue makes more money than all of it's yearly subscriptions combined!

4 Years Down...

Yesterday was mine and Neil's FOUR YEAR anniversary~
I can't even believe it's been 4 years already!
Neil surprised me by taking me to Market Street Grill.  That was kind of where our first date was, plus I love everything they make!

Since we didn't take any pictures together inside the restaurant, we decided to have the Valet take our picture on our way out.
They have their Crab Festival right now, so I got 3 different types of crab and was in heaven!!
This is my attempt at taking our picture while driving.  Neil's trying to not crash the car.

February 3, 2009

We started 2nd semester about a week and a half ago and as I was looking at my new grade book I noticed something funny.
In the front of the book, it give you an example of how to use the book.
The student's name on the left side is Shelly Young and my sister's name is Shelley Young.  I got a kick out of it, it's not like Shelley is a common name. Although the next name on the list is Chuck and that's definitely not a common name either.

Just so you don't think teachers are still stuck in the stone age, writing down all the scores on paper and figuring out the grades and whatever, I only use this for grading my student's drama performances so that I can grade as they perform.  Everything is done on computers, LUCKILY!!

shoot em up

If you know anything about Neil, you know that he loves shooting and that he is really good at it too!
Yesterday, we decided to go to an indoor shooting range and try out the new gun he got for Christmas.  Neil was lethal with that thing!  He had about a million bulls eyes.  I was pretty proud of my skills as well, I think I had 5 bulls eyes!  You robbers and rapists better watch out!
