Friday night Neil was flying in late from Texas and before he got on the plane he texted me and said to pack a bag because we were going to be going somewhere on Saturday. I really wasn't sure what to expect but on Saturday we were all packed up and headed down to the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake. We dropped off our stuff at the hotel and then headed to City Creek for a make up shopping spree at Sephora.
We went to Blue Lemon for dinner.
Then back to the hotel.
There was a cake in our room when we got there too.
Eden loved scooting around and playing with the mirrors- she loves looking at herself!
Next we went up to the pool and had it mostly to ourselves.
Eden wanted to play with the baby in the mirror again.
And she loves to give kisses! I wish she'd kiss me that often! Isn't her Juicy Couture swimsuit cute!? I think I bought that when I was first pregnant with Barrett.
After swimming we got ready for bed and ate my birthday cake.
As I was getting ready for bed, Bear asked me to sleep with him because there were two pillows. Stupidly, I told him I had to finish getting ready for bed but Dad would lay with him. They fell asleep together and I missed my chance! Bear asked Neil to sleep with him the next night too and promised Neil a special surprise if he slept with him all night!
Sunday morning we went to the Grand America's brunch. Let me just warn you that you will NOT get your money's worth if you go with kids. It was good but definitely a waste of money for us that day.
In the toy/candy store in the hotel. Bear and Eden got little bunny stuffed animals- not the dragon Bear's holding, although I think he would've preferred that.
We went up to the State Capitol to see all the pretty blossoms. We missed the full blooms by about a week unfortunately but they were still very pretty.
Bear loved climbing on everything and then running around and rolling down the big hills.
I got a pretty excellent action shot!
Our room over looked the courtyard. Bear and Neil were trying to throw money into the fountain from our balcony. They got pretty close! (there was another, closer fountain that you can't see in the picture, it was much closer to our balcony) When we went down there later, they actually found the coin on the ground right by the water.
Even though you can't see the gorgeous flowers behind us, we always have to get a picture in front of them every time we stay there.
Down in the courtyard.
Bear wanted a picture by himself so I told him to pick a place and pose.
They played tag.
Outside the toy store there was this neat contraption that bouncy balls moved through, Bear watched it for about half an hour on Saturday and again on Sunday!
The boys went swimming again and then we went to the Porcupine Grill by the U for dinner that night. It wasn't all that great to be honest.
Barrett is always picking dandelions for me. Such a thoughtful boy.
Monday morning (my birthday!) we just ordered room service and got ready to head home.
Neil and I went to the gym together- and actually worked out together- which we've only done once or twice in our whole lives probably!
My mom made an amazing steak and twice baked potato dinner that night! YUM!
And we had some ice cream, Bear decided this whole container was his.
