Halloween PARTY(ies)

This year, we had tons of Halloween fun! For some reason, we had a plethora of parties to attend!
A few people dressed up at the gym, I wore the same outfit I wore last year to the gym on Halloween (I was too busy this week to get creative).

Me, Tink, and E
Pops and Dorothy
The Lion, Dorothy, and the Tin Man.
Alex, Sean, Ethan
We went to the Team Edward/Team Jacob corn maize in Syracuse. It was freezing!!!
We dressed up as Hermione Granger (from Harry Potter) and Duffman (from The Simpson's) but my mom called me Whore-mione Granger
Livvie, Tink, Max, and Nicholas
Tink wanted "mermaid hair" like mine :)

The Ralph kiddies

Kacey (the cowgirl) is the one who invited us to this party at an indoor soccer place. Her husband is Dave and is the perfect clown!
Here's the boys from our group that night. I especially want to point out that right before we took this picture, both Dave (the clown) and Sal (the viking) had tried to use the restroom and ended up with pee all over themselves! Look closely at Sal's right leg!!
This is a party with people from Legacy Junior High. All the ladies in the group are teachers with me plus Ryan (on the far left) also works with us. I think his wife might have been taking the picture?
Duffman won Most Original Costume!
Kacey and Annie's husband, Chris both dressed as Cowboys, so they won best couple- even though they're not a couple.
We actually had another party to go to as well, but we got too cold and worn out that we bailed on the last event.
We had a lot of fun, but don't worry- I FINALLY realized that I am not 17 anymore and I need to start finding costumes that fit! Sad but true.

Pumpkins

This year we split our pumpkin carving into 2 days. We scooped it out one day and then carved them the next. Mostly just because we got lazy/tired.

Here's some pictures of our finished products.

Neil made Darth Maul from Star Wars and I made a girl skull and cross bones.

Here's Tay and Brit carving theirs.

Halloween Cat

For the last 10 years or so, my mom and I have had a tradition of hiding this black halloween cat in different places for each other. He has been EVERYWHERE! Here's a few pictures from just some of the places he's been hidden this year and last...
Dangling in my car

Hiding in my bed
Waiting for me at the gym
Shipped to my Mom's house
In my bathroom
In my classroom

And I put him in my mom's car to ride around with her new friend.

Just to name a few!

He was also shipped to me when I lived in Australia, put in my locker in high school, tied to the dangly thing on the garage door, stuffed in cupboards, and hung from all imaginable places!

We LOVE our Halloween Cat Tradition!!

I've noticed that all my recent pictures are of me without makeup and I'm in gym clothes; I must be getting really lazy or something.

And Neil says I only put bad pictures of him on the biz-log.
Sorry everyone, apparently we're just a coulpe of Ugly Betty's (or at least I am).
Maybe I'll put up some pictures of me wearing makeup and let Neil pick some pics he approves of!
No promises though :D

Fernwood

On Sunday, Neil and I went hiking up through Fernwood. The leaves were all so beautiful and it was a nice hot day!

I love autumn, I just don't like it to get cold!

My parents took Max and Livvie up in Farmington Canyon the same day and they got some AMAZING pictures!

On Friday, some of my family members went to the zoo together. I didn't get to go because I was at work! I stole some pictures to show the fun anyways.

My GORGEOUS cousin Amber got married this weekend too. I also didn't get to go to that, but again stole pictures!

Her dress looked so pretty!

Here's my mom and my aunt Pat (Amber's mom).
Everyone said it was so much fun and everything was just so beautiful and delicious!
Congrats Amber and Bryan!!

Happy Hungry Caterpillar Day

This year marks the 40th Anniversary for The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Fidelity Investments had a volunteer day where a few groups got to go to elementary schools and read to them and give them a new book. Neil and his friend, Blake, went to Parkview Elementary School.
Here's one of the classes they read to. They also had a special ed Pre-k class they got to hang out with.
They got to play with the toys too!
99% of the kids at this school are below the poverty level.
This is Blake from work

Neil had the BEST time!

Fidelity Investments paid for a brand new book for each student!
They were all VERY excited about their new book they got to take home!

Neil had so much fun with these kids and felt so good when he saw their little faces light up when they got their very own, brand new book!
