May Dinner Club

Neil and I were in charge of Dinner Club this month and we had been planning on going to the drive in to see The Avengers, but when the weather was super crappy, we had to think of something else.  

We ended up having everyone over for a barbecue at the Johnson's.

Something to Write About

Life is so routine right now that I haven't had much to blog about.  Only 9 more school days left though and then it's party time- all summer long!

Here's a picture of me and Bear hanging out.

He looks like such a big boy when he sits up like this!  I think he may be getting his top teeth now too!

We had a play date with my cousin Liddle and her baby Soleil.  Soleil was born the day before Barrett but she lives in California so we hardly ever see them.

They were definitely interested in each other.

Bear is bigger than her but they feel like they weigh about the same, they just feel different.  

Happy Mother's Day to All

Yesterday was my first Mother's Day with my baby outside my womb and it was pretty good!  I got my nails and toes done super cute, I got a massage (well, I will get a massage once I make an appointment),  Neil made a book with pictures of me and Bear in it and bought flowers. The best part of the day was when Bear and I had a 2 hour nap and Neil did the dishes- that was exactly what I needed!

Finally around 3, Barrett and I got out of our jammies.

We also had our annual Nelson family party at my parents house.

A great day was had by all.

BBQ

Tonight we had a barbecue at the Johnson house with most of the siblings (Blake was down in St George again).  It was perfect weather to be outside eating ribs and hotdogs!

DAD

Tuesday was my dad's birthday, we had a family birthday dinner/party on Sunday of course

And we went out to dinner to celebrate too!

We took our first trip ever with Bear this weekend and it went really well! Barrett slept the whole way down to St. George and the whole way back- although he didn't really nap while we were there at all.
Here he is all packed up ready to get going.

It was a quick trip, but we had a good couple of days.
We took him out for a little jog.

He also got in a swimming pool for his first time.

 This is once we got him out and he was still a little upset.

 

It was a successful little trip and we'll definitely be going again soon!

Barrett recently started playing in the exersaucer and he is loving it! 

Last Night

For the first time ever, Barrett slept in his crib all night long. He's only taken little naps in his crib and they usually didn't go that well so I've been dreading trying to make him sleep there at night.
When he first came home from the hospital, he slept in his bassinette. When he was about 2 months old, we started putting him in the nap nanny- it's like a little foam recliner thing. He sleeps really well at night in the nap nanny so I haven't had the guts to move him to his crib. Eventually, he'll be too big for the nap nanny, so we just decided to make the move last night.

I think he kinda likes the extra space!

The thing I don't really like about the crib is that it makes it a lot harder for me to sneak in and give him midnight cuddles and kisses!

My oldest nephew turned 10 years old last week!

Where does the time go?

Rawr!

I'm a huge fan of dinosaurs and I love putting Barrett in cute little dinosaur things.  We actually got quite a few dinosaur things at baby showers and most of the people giving us the gifts had no idea I even liked dinosaurs!  Good guessers!

While I was looking through some of our pictures I realized I had a bunch of pictures of him in some of his dino gear.  I can't believe how tiny he used to be!

Today we had a nice relaxing day.  We went out for a walk and then went down to Salt Lake to hang out with Leah and Lola.
