My friend Jamie has a Disney travel agency business, so I asked for her help with a few things.
We didn't tell Barrett ahead of time that we were going to Disneyland. When he woke up Sunday morning, we were all packed and we told him then. He wasn't overly excited right when we told him, but he got more and more excited as we got ready to leave. My favorite comment about it was, "well, I usually play on the iPad when I wake up..."
He was thrilled to ride the shuttle bus!
We went to Disneyland the same day we flew in. NO time to waste! Also (a note to myself) I rented this awesome double stroller from City Stroller Rentals in California, we don't have one because Disneyland is basically the only place Barrett ever needs to sit in a stroller anymore. It was a great, clean stroller, and the company was amazing- they dropped off and picked up the stroller to my hotel!
My mom came too, so of course that made it more fun!
They did have some storm troopers out walking around but they never stood still for Bear to get a picture with them.
Eden was a serious trooper! She was in the stroller or the Solly wrap all day every day and she was still as sweet as could be. I honestly felt like I was torturing her because she'd fall asleep in the stroller just as soon as we'd have to take her out to go on a ride. And all the freaking rides are SO loud she'd wake up anytime she was sleeping in the wrap. She was a very tired girl the whole trip.
My mom could get her to nap on her, but then they'd both get so sweaty. It was hot when we were there- high 80s!
Bear got this Little Mermaid bubble blower that he really had fun with.
I loved watching him watch the parades. I think this was the Pixar parade at California Adventure.
He got the whole bed to himself and never even fell out. I was worried at one point when his head and hand were hanging into Eden's pack n play, but we moved him and he never got that close to the edge again.
Screamin with Rhys and Georgy!! Such a fun rollercoaster! We went on this twice in a row because there was no line!
Bear went to Turtle Talk with Crush 3 times and 2 of the times he was the first kid Crush talked to! Crush even talked to me- we were lucky!
Bear kept picking the bench on the Carousel.
Going to see World of Color.
She finally fell asleep after a long day. I had to cover her ears during World of Color and the fireworks.
Last time we went, Bear was afraid of the characters so we didn't go out of our way to meet any this time, but he ran into Tigger and Pooh Bear and he was pretty happy about it.
Trying to catch the bubbles.
He adored Lara.
My mom had Eden and Bear on Buzz Lightyear so we could go on Hyperspace Mountain.
Bear picked a Kylo Ren light saber. I'm afraid he's got too much dark side in him!
Watching Paint the Night parade.
Eden got her 1st Visit pin.
We'd been a few times in February before and it's never been this hot or this crowded. The crowds were manageable though, nothing like the last 2 times we'd been.
OMG this picture of Georgy, Rhys, and Howard KILLS me!!
Georgy sandwich.
Neil earned a pin for buying the first Dole Whip of the day!
Have you ever seen a sexier Dole Whip pic?
Bear was just a tiny bit too little to go on Cars last time, so even though I didn't think he'd like it, we took him on it this trip.
It's unfortunate that you can't see his face because I was definitely right, he did not like it. Way too fast, loud, scary, bumpy, etc.
With Rhys' accent, the American baristas will often write Bruce on his coffee cup. Grace was a new one.
Our last morning with the Chiltons. I finally got a little cuddle from Lara, I wanted to just squeeze her!
13 years of friendship and 3 kids later.
One last group picture.
And sweet, tired Eden fell asleep on the shuttle bus to the airport until the loudest, most obnoxious kid got on and woke her up twice!! I was seriously pissed.
It was sad to have to leave Disneyland AND the Chiltons to come home to our boring everyday lives! Counting down the days to our next holiday with them!
