Here's a picture of one of their guards. They carried AK 47s and sawed off shotguns. Whatever it takes!
They went down and helped with an organization that prepares young LDS people to put their papers in for their missions. The patients are selected by their bishops/stake presidents and then come to the stake center in their nicest clothes and get everything they need to get ready for their missions. There were 140 dentists, endodontists, oral surgeons, doctors, even hair stylists.
In addition to the medical/dental work they were doing, they did lot of other charity work as well. The group traveled down with about 75 bags full of humanitarian items- quilts, newborn kits, toys and princess dresses for the kids- just a ton of stuff that these people would never have otherwise. This boy got a soccer ball and a super hero costume.
I was surprised to see how big the church was. This is where they did all the work.
This is the inside. The people waving green flags are ready for their next patient. They treated 660 people in 5 days (the whole group, not just my mom and dad).
My parents also went with part of the group to the newborn center (I don't know if it's actually a hospital or what). The moms just deliver in their street clothes and then lay in a bed with their baby next to about 20 other women and their newborns. The group took them lots of items to help take care of themselves and their babies.
When people outside the hospital saw that a group had come to give things away, they all just lined up around the gates hoping to get something too.
After the work part of the trip was over, my parents went to Roatan for a little r&r.
My mom let this monkey climb all over her!
They went zip lining too.
This was my dad's dinner one night.
Then they came home and we were super glad they didn't get murdered while they were there!
This probably would've been a better post if I would've had one of them write it since they could say a lot more about it. Oh well.

I'm glad that they are home safe! What an amazing opportunity though. Very cool of your parents!
