Neil's PRK

This week, Neil finally got PRK on his eyes(photorefractive keratectomy) It's basically like another version of LASIK. I tried all day long to upload the video I took of his procedure, but I couldn't ever get it to work. Here's just a still shot of one of his eyes with the laser pointed at it. He's been pretty sore, but it'll be worth it eventually :)
On another note, This is my MOTHER! haha They had some weird activity for the Young Mens and Young Women's groups in their ward and so they asked some people to try to be unrecognizable. I think she did a pretty good job. No one knew it was her.

Welcome Home

Last weekend a bunch of Neil's friends got together to celebrate Jared's return from Afghanistan.  (He's the one in the black sweater)
It was an enormous group of people.

The next night Neil and I went bowling with Kelsey and Alex.  this is Neil

Kelsey started bowling granny-style, but I thought she'd kill me if I put that picture up:)

Me
Alex- he won a free game because he got a strike when there was a yellow pin in the #1 spot!

35 Years!

Today is my Mom and Dad's 35th wedding anniversary!
I've only seen a couple pictures of their wedding day, I don't know where they got married or anything, all I know is that exactly 35 years ago they said "I Do" and I am so glad!!

Thanks for getting married and even more, for sticking together through it all!

I know I can speak for all my siblings when I say that my parents are totally my inspiration in basically everything I do!

Since it's Pi day today (3.14) my school gave out passes for a free piece of pie at Marie Callendars.

I got Key Lime

Neil got triple chocolate cheesecake (his wasn't free, unfortunately)

We made ourselves sick eating these, but how else could you possibly celebrate Pi Day!?

What teachers REALLY do on their prep periods...

In Drama this week we have been doing Demo speeches.  The students basically show us how to do something.  Most kids did something that had to do with folding paper, but some got a little more creative.
One girl brought her homemade stilts in to show us how to walk on stilts.  She asked me about it before and I told her she was fine to bring them and she could walk on them, but no one else could try because if they fell it would be a big liability, etc.
She left her stilts in my room and was just going to come get them after school.  On my prep period, I had a million things to do but those stilts looked really fun.
So I decided to give it a shot.  After a few tries, I thought it would be a great idea to try to take pictures of me trying to walk on stilts.  It wasn't too easy, but I did get up a few times and took a few steps.   Here's one of my better attempts (I know my face is creepy).

And this was my very worst attempt.  Obviously this picture isn't telling the whole story.  I  fell and SLID across the carpet.  I seriously landed with my nose an inch from the ground.  My hands and knees got a bit of a rug burn, but not too bad.  After school, when the girl came for her stilts I told her what a loser I am and she laughed for about 5 minutes.... and then the next day she told the rest of the class.  Oh well.  I'm a doofus!

It's times like these when I'm so glad to be in a portable where no one knows what kind of craziness I have going on!!

Poor Little LuLu

Look at these 3 darling little faces!!!  These kids are so much fun and so wild.  Lindsay had a bit of an accident yesterday, hence the bruise and stitches on her sweet face.
She fell (as babies often do) and she hit her face on a little ledge on the fireplace mantel.  LUCKILY, Shelley and Sean had just bought their new car, so they weren't stranded and also Berrie had the day off work so she could hurry and run over to watch the boys.
Shelley took Lindsay to Instacare and they told her she needed to go to McKay for a plastic surgeon.

Lins was a very brave girl and ended up getting 4 stitches.  Shelley and Berrie said the cut was super deep, you could see the fat in her face.  She's doing quite well today, she's very careful with it and the boys are too.

I'm just glad they finally got a car!!!

mini-trip

Last weekend, me, Neil, Kelsey, Alex, Tyce, Missy, Aaron and Brin went down to St. George for a little bit of a getaway.  I was hoping for 80 degree weather already, but I was way off.  Since it was a bit chilly,(high 50's) we turned the pool up extra hot so we could still have a swim.
If only it was as warm as it looked!
To Missy's dismay, we went to Golden Corral for dinner one night and it was AWESOME!  After eating there, she agreed it was great!
Kelsey, Tyce, Alex, and Wolverine (aaron).
Aaron made us "MONSTERS" for breakfast one morning.  I think they're really called german pancakes?  I don't know for sure, I'd never had them before.
the little babies
I think I'll wait a few more weeks until the sun remembers how to burn extra hot and then I'll head down again :D

Finally, Shelley's birthday dinner

Shelley's birthday was a couple weeks ago, but we've all been out of town a bit so my mom switched it up a bit.  She made John Scott's birthday dinner right after Shelley's birthday, and she made Shelley's birthday dinner on John Scott's birthday.  Confused?  It doesn't matter, the important thing is that no one's birthday has gone forgotten!

Here's Max, Neils, and Liv watching Harry Potter.  They were so into it, I had to yell their names and then hurry and take the picture.
If you can see Livvie's eyes, they are actually still looking at the tv.
They were so cute all cuddled up together!

Getting there...

Disneyland was so much fun, but for some reason getting there is always a nightmare!!
Delta called me the night before to tell me (and my dad and Tay) that they had cancelled our flight and we weren't going to get out til a few hours later.  Not that big of a deal, but I wasn't too happy.
When we do get to the airport we are on this TINY plane that is jam packed.  I got stuck next to Mr. Nose-bleed who bled all over my snacks, drink, table tray, and PANTS!!  So there I am on a plane meant for little people with blood all over everything and the flight attendants don't show up for at least 10 minutes AFTER I pushed the call-button.  It was really, really gross.
We show up at Disneyland Hotel where they screwed up our room at least 3 times.  First, they had us (me, mom, dad, taylor, and brittany) booked for 1 King sized bed.  Then, the put us in a room with 2 double beds, then finally, the last night they got it right and gave us 2 queen beds and a couch bed.
That is my drama of getting to Disney Land.  Could've been worse, but I'd say there's definitely room for improvement!!

Oh yeah- When I got to the airport I get my sunglasses case out of my purse and one of the arm thingy's on the sunglasses was broken off!  I'm definitely taking those back to Nordstrom to get them fixed.  So that's why I bought the High School Musical sunglasses-- my cute, expensive ones somehow broke inside their hard case, inside my purse!

DiSnEyLaNd

This weekend I got to go to the Happiest Place on Earth!!  It was me, my parents, Jill, Don and their kids, John, Stef, and their kids, and Taylor and Brittany.
Here's mom and dad on Toy Story-if you haven't been on this one yet- it's a BLAST!
Me, Stefanie, and Dane
Jill and Nicholas
Me and Tinkey
This is the back of my mom.  McCord got a sword from the gift shop and somehow my mom got a hold of it and kept poking people in the butt.  It was quite hilarious.
Cord and Stef.  McCord is the bravest little boy.  He goes on every rollercoaster he's tall enough for, even space mountain!
Crappy picture, but my cousins Liddle and Mark came to join us at Disneyland for a few hours and this is the only picture I got of them.  This is us on the crappy Snow White ride (which, by the way, Snow White doesn't even appear in her own ride!)
Me watching the HSM 3 parade and sporting my new HSM 3 sunnies!
Some of us on the newly re-opened It's a Small World.
Taylor riding Dumbo by himself.
It was an exhausting weekend and I could have posted another dozen pictures, but thought I would bore everyone.  So this is just a sampling of all the fun we had together.
Oh, in case you're wondering where Neil is during all this excitement, he didn't want to come.  We were just there in October, so he felt like it was too soon for more Disneyland- obviously the rest of us don't agree!

William is 1!

Yesterday was my sister Shelley's birthday and also Neil's nephew William's birthday!  We've haven't had Shelley's party yet because my Mom is out of town and she's the one who throws the parties!
This is William's b-day party at Grandma and Papa's.   Here's the kids getting ready for cake.
He kept trying to touch the flame instead of blow it out, so the cake had to be moved further and further from him.  (or is it farther and farther?)

This was only about half way through the mess of Green Frosting!!

We {heart} Neils

This weekend, my sister made Neil some really delicious cupcakes.  We went over to her house and they were on her counter looking so cute and so YUMMY!

She had to tell us what they meant though.  They mean, We love Neils.  Love Sean, Shelley, Ethan, Alex, Lindsay.  Neil Johnson is a Star.  We love You.
Or something like that.  By the time I thought to take the picture, I had eaten one that had another heart on it (I think) and Neil ate the one that had a gun on it.
They were awesome and beyond thoughtful.
Thanks SSEAL.

No Hole in THIS Heart!

For lack of anything else to post.
migraines and the hole can be hereditary, my dr. wanted to have
me checked out just in case. I had to have an echocardiogram,
where they did an ultrasound on my heart as they injected saline into
it to see if any bubbles passed from one chamber to the other. Neil
didn't take any pictures of that, for obvious reasons. But after the
echo, they strapped this weird thing on my head and injected more
saline, this time checking to see if the bubbles went up to my brain.
Luckily, there is only a teeny tiny hole in my heart that doesn't
need surgery or anything. The tests actually really sucked and I
was passed out for half of what was going on, but at least the
results were positive! Plus, don't I look incredible with that thing squishing my face!?

ohhhhhh.......

During 3rd period today, one of the little office aid girls comes walking in carrying this big box that says ProFlowers on it.  We were busy at the time, so I had to wait until lunch to see what kind of flowers were waiting for me.

Neil sent me these beautiful roses for Valentines Day.  What a sweetheart.
The girls in my classes all were jealous that their 13-year old boyfriends didn't buy them roses for valentines day.  They'll probably get some gross carnation :)  Just kidding, any flower is lovely and makes every girls day, right?!

The best part about them is that they made my whole classroom smell amazing!
