Photo Shoots

I pretty much have a photo shoot with Bear every day, but we've had a couple more professional pictures taken of him too.
We did the hospital photo shoot and couldn't resist buying them. He was only 2 days old in these pictures.
I especially like these because they're taken on the blanket my Grandma CC crocheted for him. She made one for me when I was born and I still have it and sleep with it every night!

When he was 8 days old we had pictures taken by my brother in law's sister Leslie.

I can't believe how much he changes EVERY DAY!

Santa Pictures

My family had our annual Santa pictures taken yesterday. This year, I could have had a participant but opted not to mostly because of germs and the fact that I don't let my baby go anywhere (yep, I'm one of THOSE moms).
The results of the pictures were hilarious as usual. My cousin Madi brought her baby for pics too and she was NOT a Santa fan!

Linds was the only other crier this year and she was fine once pictures started.

Here's the all around best shot.

Next year Barrett can join in on the fun!

Firsts

In Barrett's first couple weeks of life outside the womb, he's been experiencing a lot of new things. (actually all 3 of us have been having a lot of "firsts").
He had his first trip to Pop's and Lala's house. This was his first outing anywhere actually besides leaving the hospital to come home.
Some good lookin boys!

He had his first bath at home. He didn't love his first bath, he screamed and pooped in the tub, but has seemed to like them better since.

His first smile caught on camera. It's blurry and off center, but I LOVE it!

He went to the doctor for the first time. He went on his 1 week birthday and had gained a whole pound from when the day he was born.
Although when we went in again for his 2 week appointment, he was down to 7 lbs 10 oz, so we're not sure if he really lost that much weight in a week after gaining so much the week before or if it was just a fluke from being weighed on 2 different scales or something. We're going in again Monday just for a weight check to figure it out.
At his 2 week appt. he was 20.28 inches long (34 percentile), 7 lbs 10 ozs (20 percentile), and his head was 36.2 cm (31 percentile).

He's had his first bottles since I had an infection and clogged ducts for a while (breast feeding is FULL of surprises like that!).

He got his first Christmas tree which he doesn't seem to care much about this year, but that's okay.

We're looking forward to other firsts he'll be having, especially the first time he sleeps all the way through the night!

The WIND

The crazy wind last week did a lot of damage throughout Davis County. Somehow, we got lucky and our house was completely safe!
My parents lost this enormous tree from their yard.

It could've been worse though!

Don't Break Your Leg

Last year was kind of a crappy year for our family. On December 2nd, my dad slipped and broke his femur and his shoulder (I posted all about it here).

This year on December 2nd, my dad held a "Don't Break Your Leg Party."
My parents got a couple of cakes from Parson's Bakery in Bountiful.

The cakes were delicious and luckily, no one broke their leg!

More Visitors

Barrett has gotten to see a lot more of his great family and friends since we've been home.
His aunt Leah came up to meet him. (He was starving when she was there though)

Leah and Lola- Lola is only 1 year and 5 days older than Bear. It seems crazy to think he'll be this big in just a year!!

Papa has been able to come by a few times

Both sets of his grandparents.

Baby Bear with his Lala. We figured out the other day that Barrett is the 25th member of our family AND he was born on the 25th! I love things like that!

My Grandma GiGi.

Tay and Brit came over.

Uncle Tay Tay

Berrie brought Max and Liv over. Livvie held Barrett for a really long time, she was so sweet with him.

Maxwell holding his new cousin.
You probably can't tell based on the number of pictures I've been posting, but believe it or not, I've actually gotten really bad about taking pictures these days, so of course, we've had many other people come to visit and meet the baby and I haven't taken pictures! I've got to get good at that again!

Visitors

We had a lot of family and friends come to see us in the hospital. Barrett's first visitors were Pops and Lala, who were waiting for us in our room when we returned from the operating room.

Here's Barrett with his Papa. Barrett is the first "Johnson" grand baby. He's not the first grand baby on their side but he's the first one to carry on the name of Johnson.

Uncle Blake

Blake's girlfriend Jessica

Grandma Dawn

My sisters and parents (Jill and Shelley have had sick kids, so they wore masks to protect the baby).

Aunt Shelley

Aunt Berrie

The girls (and Barrett of course, he can't be left out of any pictures!)

Bear was making some really adorable faces at Pops

Neil's grandma Lyril came to see us

And Grandma Dawn

My Grandma CC. I think she said Barrett was her 33rd GREAT grandchild! WOW!

We didn't get pictures of all our visitors, but we were glad you came- Thanks for visiting us!
