Zoo Day

Yesterday we went to the Hogle Zoo and it was fabulous!  This was Barrett's 2nd time at the zoo, but the first time that I got to go with him.  The first time he went, he went with my parents, Shelley, and her kids while I was at work.

Here's Ethan standing on a hollow log thing.

Jill showing Bear the otters I think.

Some of our kiddies watching for the polar bears, I think.  Whitney, Lindsay, Alex, Reagan, Olivia, and Ethan.

Ethan, Alex, Barrett, Lala and Shelley- I think this is at the polar bear exhibit too.  (The zoo was extremely crowded and I was always at the back of the group with the stroller, so I never really saw too many of the animals.  The ones I did see though were super active and so fun to watch!)

E, Shelley, Bear, and Ali.

Barrett and his BFF!

I think Bear looks so much like me as a baby in this picture!

Me and Buster

Tink, Lu, Reags, Liv, and Nick.

Me and Jill

The Merry Go Round was a blast and Bear was a lot more into it this time.
Ali on the tiger.

E on the elephant.

Tinky on the turtle.

Jill stood by the hippo.

Bear rode the cutest baby polar bear.
Tink, Reagan, and Livvie.

Lindsay and Reagan- best friends!

This was on the way out and we were all ready to go at this point.

We were all really exhausted and poor Ethan fell asleep like this!

Busy Bear

The last week or two have been really busy for Barrett. Out of nowhere, he started sitting like a freaking BOSS!

And he got 2 more lower teeth, making a total of 6 at 6 months! He got his 2 upper teeth a couple weeks ago- it's no wonder he's always chewing on something!

He also became a champion roller- but only back to front.  He'll often sleep on his side now and eventually roll to his tummy, this has been causing us some issues at about 1 am when he's rolled over and wants to get back on his back!
AND now that I'm home with him, we've been working REALLY HARD to get a good nap schedule going and we're both exhausted!

fail

Our first day using our Cherry Hill season pass was not exactly successful.  Barrett fussed the whole time.  I'm hoping it was just because he was tired, but he might really just hate Cherry Hill!

We went with Kelsey, Tyce, and Rylee- at least they got to have some fun!

I'm not giving up yet though!  We'll try again another day.

1st Day of Summer Break

Our first day of summer break was awesome.  We spent it swimming with the family.  Actually, Bear ended up taking a really long nap so he never even got in the pool.  We'll go again soon and he'll definitely get in and play!

Graduations

Last week Reagan graduated from Miss Jamie's preschool.
Here's her graduation program.

Ethan, Alex, and Lindsay graduated from Miss Sharon's preschool but I couldn't find any pictures of that, so here's just a funny one I found of the boys!

And I finished another year of junior high.  I didn't get any pictures of our staff party this year.  I was emotional as usual.  This year was especially sad for me because this is the first year that I've had many of these kids since they were in 7th grade!  I was pretty sad to see them go.  Plus, it's sad to see teachers retire or transfer and you never know what you're going to be teaching the next year (although that seems to be more of an issue with me than with most teachers).  And yes, I am going back next year, but it'll most likely just be part time :)

Johnny Jump Up

Last weekend, we finally put Barrett in his Johnny Jump Up and he has been loving it!

PS Yes, that's my new washer and dryer behind him :)

Rice Cereal

Last night we gave Barrett his first feeding of rice cereal and he loved it! He actually did really well with eating it and not getting too messy.
He really wanted to help feed himself.

He kept trying to grab the whole bowl too.

He was a pretty happy boy with a full tummy!  Next time I think we'll bathe him after he eats though!

Max and Livvie got glasses a couple weeks ago.  They both look so darling in them and the best part is that they can finally see!
There's a really hilarious story that goes along with Liv's eye exam.  As the doctor was shining the bright light in her eye, she said, "I can see a light.  Is that you Jesus?"  Hilarious.

6 Months

We took Baby Bear to his 6 month check up today and he's doing great!  He's very healthy and was extremely talkative with Dr. Strausser- it was so cute!
He's 27.83 inches 89th percentile
He weighs 17 lbs 3.5 oz 43rd percentile
His head is 44.6 cm 72nd percentile

He did really well with his shots and only cried for a second!  He is such a brave little guy!~

Memorial Day

Memorial Day was even more of a family affair than usual this year. Several members of my dad's family decided to meet at the Layton Cemetary to see the graves.
Here's some of us at Grandpa RJ's grave.

Shelley taking a picture.

Some of the Christensen adults.

Some of the John Christensen family.

Dad and Uncle Ta

Walking over to Sayler's grave.

At Sayler's gravesite.

At Ben's grave.

The kids always want to just watch the horses.

I wish we could've stayed longer at the Layton graves, but Barrett was freaking out since he was up all night, hadn't had a nap, and was hungry.  We left and met up with our family again at the Kaysville Cemetary.  I stayed in the car with Bear since he fell asleep for about 5 minutes.
This is at Grandpa Denny's grave.

My great grandparents are right next to him too.

Then we went back to my parents for a BBQ and Barrett was happy.
