Royal Ontario Museum

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the ROM.  It is Canada's largest museum and one of the biggest in all of North America apparently.

They had 4 snakes out that kids (or whoever) could pet and hold.  Barrett touched 3 of them and didn't know what to think about them.

He loved seeing all the animals.

And this lady let him pet her helper dog and he really loved that too!

I got to see some cool dinosaurs.

Bear was glad to get to play with some kids too.

He got to play in the sand a little bit.  Mostly he just flicked the sand everywhere, so it was pretty short lived.

Plus, he got sick of the goggles.

On the way out we saw Gurgle the dinosaur (I guess?) and as you can see, Barrett wasn't super crazy about him...

This Week's Adventures

We try to get out of the house every day so we don't get too crazy.  Usually we just go on a walk around a few blocks or go meet Neil at the Eaton Centre, but as often as we can, we go to a new place to play.  This week we went to a little cafe called Lil' Bean and Green.  It has the yummiest muffins and a play place for kids.

Bear made friends with this cute little guy up in the treehouse.

Another day, we went to The Peanut Club.  If there's a ball pit, Barrett is in heaven!  He played with this little girl- who was actually the only other kid there.

He could even ride this train himself.  It was hilarious actually, because he would push the "go" button for a second at a time and give himself whiplash.  I was laughing really hard and trying to get video of him, but he was over the train by the time I got the video going.

All he wanted to do was get back in the ball pit!

It's finally starting to warm up a little bit (in the 50's), so today we had an exploration day.  We pass some really neat buildings every day and never go in them, so today we did.
This is St. Andrew's church, it's right in the middle of the city.  It's only unlocked on Sundays for church, so we didn't get to go in.

This is Osgoode Hall.  There's a really pretty park area around the building that we walked around that I think will be amazing once things start blooming more.

Bear loved watching all the squirrels.  There were tons of them!

The Winston Churchill memorial.  I took a pic with this sign because he's with my fav US President of all time, FDR.

We went in the new city hall building, saw this neat wall decorated with nails, and found a library that has a story time each week!  It kind of conflicts with naptime, but we are going to see if we can make it work!

This is Old City Hall.  I think things still happen here too though.

We also got some street vendor hotdogs, but they weren't nearly as good as the ones from the cart across from our house.

Mother Boy

(That's a funny title if you're familiar with Arrested Development which is returning in 1 month!!!)
I've noticed recently that Barrett and I quite often dress alike.  I mean, we're not dressed in the exact same outfit ever, but we'll wear the same color shirt or pants.  Obviously I dress both of us but I really never make us match on purpose.  I guess I just subconsciously want us to be the same all the time ;)  Anyways, once I started noticing it, I decided to see if we had any pics of our twinner outfits.  (they're not necessarily the best pictures, but that's okay)

Black jeans and white and red socks.

Navy blue tops

Red pants

Navy Stripes

How cute are we? ;)

Bed Head

Barrett gets the funniest bed head!

Mega Walker

It seems kind of surreal that Barrett walks all the time now. When we left Toronto in February to come home to Utah, he was only taking 1 step at the most! He learned to walk in Utah and since we've been back in Toronto, it's a whole new world of experiences for all of us!
I love this pic of him walking into the bathroom for tubby time!

Sky Zone

Bear and I went to Sky Zone last week and it was the coolest!  When I was little I asked for a trampoline every year for my birthday and for Christmas and I never got one.  I always wanted to push a bunch of tramps together too, but I only knew 2 people with rectangular trampolines and they didn't live anywhere near each other.  Luckily, my dream has now come true (although I still don't own a tramp) at these awesome trampoline places!
Bear had a good time too but I think I enjoyed it a little more than he did.  It wasn't too crowded either, which was really nice.

He had a blast in the foam pit.
He kept trying to balance the blocks on his head.
I definitely want to go back without Bear sometime so I can really jump and play!

Daddy's Shoes

Bear's latest obsession has been wearing Neil's shoes (or trying to anyways).

Ontario Science Centre

Last week we went with a couple friends to the Ontario Science Centre.  It was ridiculously crowded and expensive but we still had a good time.

He would've played in the water tanks all day if I would've let him!

They had quite a few exhibits that reminded me of the old Children's Museum in Utah.

I know it's so gross that I took a picture of him before getting his mouth off that nasty glass!  It was too hilarious to miss though!

Bear and Claire.

Toronto Party

Neil planned a few fun things for us to do for my birthday here in Toronto.
The night before my b day, he got his coworker/our neighbor to come tend Barrett while we went to The Second City comedy club, which was really fun.  It was especially nice because I was able to put Bear to bed and then Allison just had to come over and be here in case he woke up (which he never does).

On the 11th, Neil arranged to go to work late so he could get up with the baby and I could sleep in, but the strangest thing happened and Bear slept in until 9!  He's usually up around 7-7:30, so by the time Barrett woke up, Neil pretty much had to leave for work anyways!  That must've been Bear's present to me :)
Later, Bear and I met Neil at the Eaton Centre to hang out for a little bit.  Barrett had the best time just walking around everywhere.

When Neil came home from work, he made dinner and dessert for the first time in our relationship.  Bear helped make the dessert too!

Then we had the dessert, opened some of my presents, and I went down to the gym.
Thanks for all the planning, Babe!  It was a really good day!

Pre Birthday Party

The night before I left town, we had a family dinner to celebrate my birthday.  We had enchiladas and a funfetti cake that was burned because I made it...  Oh well. (the reason I made the cake is because my mom had all the kids at The Museum of Natural History all day and since I wasn't doing anything, I thought I'd make my cake.)
Barrett wasn't too sure what to think of the whole "Happy Birthday" thing.

But he did like eating the candles afterwards!

Last Hoorah!

We tried to fit in as much fun as we could in the last few days we were in Utah. My school friends were on spring break, so Nicole and I went over to play at Annie's.

Bryn, Bear, Eli, and me.

Got a few extra story times.

We headed over to Grandma and Papa's too since they just got back in town right before we left again!
We wanted to do even more fun stuff but just ran out of time and energy! Next time!
