AA party

Academy Awards, not Alcoholics Anonymous ;)
Our friend Monica invited a bunch of us over for an Oscars party because, who doesn't love the Oscars!?  We were supposed to dress up in our "Oscar best" so I pulled an old dress out of storage to wear (hence, the wrinkles).  These people are a blast to hang out with!

We each had a ballot with our guesses as we watched the show. Blake won with a total of 17/24 correct guesses!  (I wasn't far behind with 14, Neil had 11!)
Jason awarded Blake with the official Dinner Club Academy Award award.

And Then...

I wanted to get together with as many friends as possible while I'm here since I don't get to see people as often when I live away (obviously).  It worked out perfectly that all my school friends could get together on the same day and we went swimming at the Clearfield Aquatic Center.  I had never been there but it was really fun!!  Erika sat with Bear for a minute so I could even go on the big water slide!

Sadly, Nicole and Eli were running around somewhere else when we took this picture of our group!  That cute girl on the left is a student that Annie brought to help with the kids.

Grandma CC had a total knee replacement this week.  She's doing quite well in her recovery; she is such a strong woman!

Bear got 2 stickers at Target.  Then we met up at Kneaders for a fun lunch with the girls.

Sean always teases us all that we have such hard lives as stay at home moms ;)

On Friday, Bear woke up with pink eye!  We got right in to the doctor to get on drops!

He got to have a very fun day at home with Pops.

Saturday night I met up with a couple girls for dinner.
The best part is, we still have a few more days for more fun here!!

The First Few Days of Our Trip

It wasn't too long after we got to Pops and Lala's house before the shows started coming on.  Bear felt like he really needed to be watching two shows at once.  I think it was Despicable Me 2 on the kindle and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 on the tv.
That night, I went out to dinner with my mom and sisters to Sushi Monster.

And then we went to the Jazz game. (Shelley is on her phone, if you couldn't tell)

We were having a bit of trouble with the tickets and we had to wait a while before it was all figured out!

These guys were on the front row and were the stars of the game in these outfits.

Sunday was both Shelley's and William's birthdays.  We got to eat dinner with both families which was great, but we missed both birthday cakes!  Huge bummer!

Bear often prays like this...

...because Poppy does.

Bear has been SO happy to see all his cousins again!

Livvie is hilarious and so creative.  She made herself some braces from a rubber band and earring backs.
This picture is kind of creepy, but I had to get my eyes dilated yesterday.  I took this picture over 5 hours after my appointment and they were still this dilated and I STILL couldn't see anything close up!
These phone pictures are the worst!! Hopefully I can fix them when I get home to Denver again.

Our Week

Neil loves letting Bear watch shows on his phone so he can get some cuddles (and rest).

We went to story time again this week and Barrett got to make a really cute dog.  The librarian read a story about a dog that gets really messy and has different colors of stuff all over him, so the kids made the same dog.

Also, I dropped a remote on my foot and got a major bruise!  The picture does not do it justice!

Kelsey had a really good idea last time she was over at my house.  She suggested letting Bear use sidewalk chalk out on our little deck/patio area.  I had just bought him chalk the day before but I was going to put it in his Easter basket since they're carrot shaped. Also, I wasn't sure if our apartment complex would get mad at us for drawing out on the regular sidewalk.  Up on our deck, they can't even see it and he had a blast!

PLUS- we came to Utah!  So I'll have a few fun things to post about that soon!

16th Street

After the aquarium, we went out to eat, then the Love's took Skyler and Haylee to the airport.  Instead of driving all the way back to Colorado Springs (it's almost an hour from our house, about 2 hours from the airport!), they came and slept over at our house.  Monday was President's Day, so we went to check out the 16th street area of downtown Denver.  They have a free bus that travels up and down 16th, so we rode that a few times.  Because, why wouldn't we want to sit next to a bunch of homeless people!?

We were laughing about this picture because it looks like Kelsey and Neil are the parents of all 3 kids.

Bear and Rylee were hilarious in H&M, they danced in this mirror til we had to go!
These kids really have a lot of fun being together!  We are SO glad they live as close as they do; it makes it feel a lot more like home :)

Denver Aquarium

Kelsey and Alex came up this weekend to go to the aquarium.  It was the same "brand" as the aquarium in Houston, but they were actually pretty different.
Rylee, Tyce, and Bear.
Bear and Rylee with this humongous fish!

Kelsey's little brother, Skyler and his girlfriend, Hayley were in town for the weekend.  They're in this bubble thing with the kids.  We couldn't get a very good picture since they're in the fish tank.

We could see them a lot better in this bubble.  Bear was over it though, so he's not in that bubble.

Dads and kids.

The shark tank was pretty awesome.

The sting rays were fun too.  Bear really liked petting them.

Kelsey even touched one (but then she screamed and was really grossed out!)

The kids each made a smashed penny on the way out.  Barrett's is already lost in the car though.
