2nd Cousins (I think)

My cousin Liddle (real name Liz) has a daughter 1 day older than Barrett and another daughter 2 months younger than Eden.  We haven't seen them for months and lucked out when they came by last week. Bear and Soleil (pronounced So-lay in case you didn't know, it's French) are actually starting to play pretty well together.

This was our first time meeting Saiorse (pronounced Sare-sha because I KNOW you didn't know this one, it's Irish) and she is a treat! I just wanted to squeeze and squish her forever!

The Crater

Neil and I spent the day up at the Homestead in Midway yesterday to go swim in the crater.  This was my first time swimming in it. Neil went last winter with his family, but I was pregnant and decided to just stay home with Barrett.
The crater is a natural geothermal pool that is about 96° all year round.
This is what it looks like from the outside.

This is on the inside.

We took Neil's go pro camera and took a hundred pictures that would've been really cool but the camera was on the wrong setting :( so 99% of our pictures in the water were totally blurry.

We did some snorkeling.  There's not too much to see to be honest.

Many people get their scuba certifications done at the crater so they have these floating rectangles that are used for that I think.  Neil had fun going down to the first rectangle which is about 10-15 feet deep.

This picture looks funny because you can't really tell that we're relaxing floating on our backs in the water, it kind of looks like I'm dead.

Bear laughed when he saw this picture and asked why we were kissing in the deep water.

This is on top of the crater, you can go on a little bridge and look down into it.

The resort was all decorated cute for fall.  I wished we had the kids for this part to take some pictures.

Soccer

Barrett played his last soccer game of his first season last week. He really loved playing and I think we'll do it again. He and a few of his teammates were a little too interested in tackling and dog piling than kicking the ball in the goal so we've got some homework before the next season starts.

They handed out their medals and Bear loves his!  He told me he wants to keep it forever!

Comic Con

Last week Comic Con was in Salt Lake and Neil was so excited to take Barrett.
Bear was afraid of some of the people in costumes, but he loved this Spider Man and gave him a big hug.

They had a KidCon section where the kids could do some fun training/obstacles.

Neil said there were a lot of people who wanted their picture with Barrett, but he was too shy.  I'm glad he has some stranger danger.

Dental Plan

Even though I brush Barrett's teeth 3x every day, he has very deep grooves in his teeth (just the way they formed) and needed sealants to prevent cavities. He did so well!  He was very relaxed and helpful to Pops and Lala.  I was so proud of him!

Eden's Blessing Dress

I guess it's become a bit of a tradition for my kids to get a Feltman Brothers blessing outfit since I did.  They are very well made and pretty dang cute, so I just haven't bothered to look at anything else when we've bought their outfits.
I got Eden a short/pink & white/non traditional blessing dress.  I love it and it was so cute on her!  On the day of her blessing I had actually decided I'd change her into my blessing dress just for the blessing, but everything just got too busy and crazy and I wasn't able to do that.  I didn't mind too much either way, she looked like an angel in either dress and definitely acted like one!

We accessorized with a pink bow, shoes, and bracelet to bring out the pink flowers on the smocking.

We pretty much tried all day to get a good family picture and it just didn't happen.
This is the best we could get of the kids.

This one's pretty cute with Neil and Edie.  Sometimes we call her Edie.

It's just impossible to get all four of us looking at the camera and smiling.  We sure tried though.

I'm smiling but not looking at the camera, Eden's looking at the camera but isn't smiling.  We tried all day I tell you!

Eden with Grandma CC.

We're lucky we have so much family nearby.  All of Neil's siblings came.
Mary and Monica with Eden.

Jessica and Eden.

The guys getting ready to bless her.  We blessed her at home.  There was Neil, Blake, Kurt, Pops, Don, and Steve Cazier and Grant Tidwell from the bishopric. They had Pat and Dawn on FaceTime during the blessing so they could see and hear too.

LOTS of CRAZY kids!

Grandma Lyril got her right to sleep!  It was a long and exhausting day and Eden didn't have any good naps. She slept for quite a while on Grandma Lyril, but not long enough.  She was still so good though and wasn't fussy until the end of the night when she had had enough.  And I didn't blame her!

Just missing Lola in this picture who was with her dad.

I'm not sure why half of us are looking one place and the other half are looking another place.

The kids had a lot of fun together.  I was glad it was such great weather and we could send them outside to play!

This was the invitation I made.

My Blessing Dress

As we started talking about blessing Eden and looking for a dress for her, my mom found my blessing dress.  It was a hand-embroidered Feltman Brothers dress that is still in great shape.  I considered using it for Eden, but decided to buy her her own dress and just take some pictures of her in mine.

This is me in the dress when I was almost 2 months old.  It looks a little different because you can't see the detail at the bottom and I'm also wearing a bib. You can also see my blankey in the picture- it's the crocheted one with pretty edges under the one I'm laying on.  I still have the blankey (sleep with it every night) but it doesn't have the pretty edges anyone.  It's not white anymore either, but that's what 31 years of use will do.  I also just found out that MY blankey was the first one my grandma had ever made like it.  Now she makes them for all her great grand babies, but mine was the first :)

Here is Eden in my dress on my blankey.

And with a different headband.

And with her own Feltman Brothers bib- hey, I had one, so she needed one too.

Soccer Pics

We got Barrett's soccer pictures back this week.  He's still been loving the games although he seems to be crossing soccer and football a bit because he doesn't quite keep his hands to himself.  He scored 3 goals in his last game!
Bear gets a lot of play time because Kache has only come once and there's often 1 other boy gone each week so there's only 4 or 5 players to rotate.
Jude, Clay, Kache, Liam, Lou, Barrett.

(obviously I just took pictures of the pictures. I really need to learn how to use my parent's scanner, or find ours in storage!)

Sunday Stroll

On Sunday we went out to the bird refuge in West Layton for a little walk.

We also had dinner for Berrie and Jill's upcoming birthday.  Eden got a little freaked out from the singing I think.  Or the candles maybe.  I don't know, but she was screaming FOREVER afterwards!

September 20, 2015

Bear takes a lot of random pictures.  This is one I just found on one of the cameras he uses.  I thought it was kind of funny.  That belly's about all he could see for several months!  The sad part is that I still had 6 more weeks until Eden was born after this picture.
