A Rough Start to the Weekend

I walked Barrett to school on Friday morning and when Eden and I got home, we were completely locked out.  I had locked the door that leads from the garage into the house the night before and forgot to unlock it in the morning so when we came back, we could get into the garage but not into the house.  To make matters worse, my parents were in California, Neil was in Texas, one sister was a work, another in St. George, and one was having enough issues of her own that morning! Although it turns out, even if everyone was in town or available, I am the only person with a house key and mine was on my car keys and since I walked, I didn't have those :(  I seriously had no way to get in or even go anywhere else.
I called a locksmith (I wouldn't recommend the one I called and I even wanted to write a poor review on google about them, but I can't figure out which company I called!) After an hour and a half of waiting, he finally came and got me back in.  It was not my best morning.  Poor Eden was exhausted and so annoyed at me for not putting her to bed!

Later that day, Bear and I made brownies to make up for the crappy morning.  He was at school the whole time so his morning was just fine, but the brownies sure made me feel better.

As you can see (in this picture and the one above) we got our Tula carrier AND Eden is finally big enough to ride in it.  Babies are supposed to be 15 lbs before being carried in it and when it first arrived, she was still just a little too light.

Eden's Hair

Because of our crazy schedule right now with Barrett's lessons and games, sometimes I have to bathe Eden in the morning instead of at night.  Her hair comes out curly out of the tub so one morning I tried to make it stay curly.  It didn't look right with it just curled, so I put a bow in it and that was cute but it wouldn't stay well.

So then I tried a ponytail (which has gotten almost impossible to do because she's constantly grabbing and pulling it as I'm trying to do it) but either she pulled it out or it fell out during nap time.
Girls hair is so much harder than boys hair!

Her bangs are actually pretty long so if they they're not swept to the side or pulled back, they come all the way down to her eyes!

Even when I comb it after the bath the bottom of it stays curly.
I shouldn't complain about how to do her hair, at least she has some!  There's a few babies close to her age in our ward and they have pretty much no hair still!

Last week was spring break for my nieces and nephews- even the ones from California- so we got to have a very fun week all together.
Tink and Liv slept over one night and watched my kids for a few minutes while I ran to the mall for an exchange. They were such cute little babysitters and were very fun and helpful!

We went bowling on Dane's birthday.

Dane opened some presents and John Scott wrestled everyone else.

Playing Go Fish with Bear, Hadley, and her cousin Reece.

They left for California on McCord's birthday (with a very sick DaneđŸ˜¢) but he got to open some presents the day before.

Stefanie was going through some of her things at her mom's house and found this yearbook from her 1st grade class.  Neil's brother Blake was in it.  She had told me before that she remembered him from elementary but this picture was pretty funny! (and cute!)

We put up Eden's new pink swing and put on her new sunnies!

Awesome Aquarium Again

Nicole is on spring break right now so we made plans to go down to the aquarium in Draper.  Bear and I went a couple weeks ago but I was really glad to go again because we got to see more things this time around.
I love this picture.  We didn't tell them to do scared faces or anything!

I left Eden with my sister Shelley this time so I was able to see and do a lot more too. I got to pet the stingrays and star fish, Bear didn't want to try this time.

This fish and crabs were the most playful, fun things we saw! (until we got to the penguins)

In the shark tunnel.  Almost as cool as the sharks were the scuba divers in the tank cleaning the glass!

I loved this because Bear's just like, hey guys, I'll be in this picture too.

The penguins were great!

This one penguin was just racing around a jumping like a dolphin.  So FUN to watch him!

Driving the ship.

We got to the aquarium right at 10 and it wasn't very crowded, but as we were getting ready to leave, it really started to get packed.  The kids had to wait in a pretty long line to cross the bridge.

More stuff to climb on.

Chocoholic

I put Eden down to play while I did a few things and next thing I know, she had scooted herself over by Barrett who was sitting listening to a book on tape (yes, an actual cassette tape!).  She starts emptying Bear's Easter basket and I didn't think anything of it until I notice she has something in her mouth.  I go over and get this blue Dove egg out of her mouth. (I know it looks like I'm giving it to her because she's reaching for it, but I was just showing what I took out).

Then I realize she still had something else in her mouth too (you can tell in the above picture there was still something in there) and I pull out this pink Hershey egg too!
THEN as soon as I had her mouth totally empty, she's reaching for the jellybeans! (as shown in above picture as well!)
It was a crazy 10 seconds!  So we've put all of Bear's candy in a bag and put all other easter baskets and candy up high!

Easter Partays

Such a fun Easter weekend at our house.  Bear had a little egg hunt at school and made bunny ears too.

Later that afternoon, we dyed our eggs.  LOTS and LOTS of eggs.

I love these two pictures because Nick will always pop out of nowhere to jump in a picture.

We tried the cool whip method of dying eggs seen on Pinterest. It worked ok.

A few of our finished eggs.  The two in the front, center are two of the cool whipped eggs.

Saturday we had a fantastic party at Aunt Connie's.  We're very lucky she has a big enough house and yard and is WILLING to let our giant family come each year.
Eden got a little puppy.

Bear was pretty much done finding eggs and his toys by the time I got out there with Eden.

And a new teething toy.

Eden got several darling new dresses this year for Easter.  This was one of them.

Some of the eggs have coupons you can redeem for money.  I think there's about $40 hidden in the eggs.  Bear got quite a bit.

I got to hold baby Welles- only like 2 or 3 weeks old I think!

Sunday morning I had to get up early to make sure I could watch Bear find eggs and his basket.  It was so fun and totally worth it.  I got some really fun video of it all, he really had a great time.

I think his favorite part may have been the amount of candy he was allowed to eat BEFORE breakfast!

Bear got a new bowtie for church!  I didn't get him a whole new Easter outfit because most of the stuff sold as Easter outfits for boys are things I'd only put him in ON Easter and then never wear again.  He looked great in his new tie!

Bear was just about to leave for church with Pops and Lala when Eden was just getting up (rare for her to sleep so late) and getting into her Easter basket.

I think she liked her presents.

She wore another one of her Easter dresses today.  It had a cute little white sweater to keep her warm.

Dane and McCord stopped by and were really having fun playing with Eden. They're in town for their spring break this week.
Neil got SO sick yesterday afternoon, was up all night, and still feeling miserable today, so he missed all the Easter fun, including the yummy food and candy!
