My Valentines

Happy Valentines Day to my 2 sweet boys!

Barrett got his first valentine this year in the mail from Pops and LaLa.

Valentine's Day is my Grandma Roselyn's birthday. She is 85 this year- what an incredible woman!
My aunt Kathy had her annual GiGi open house and it was a hit!

HH

Barrett has gotten really into holding hands these days.

Coincidentally, so have we.

Mt. Kilimanjaro

My amazing parents just got back from Africa where they successfully climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The tour company they went with carried all this stuff on their heads all the way up the mountain.

It included all the pots, pans, plates, and fresh food for the entire trip! Oh and water!

Here's my parents at the top of the massive mountain.

Over 19,000 feet in elevation!

After they came back down the mountain, they went on a Safari where they saw tons of animals. And lots of them were babies like this little elephant.

They brought back cute little African animal toys for all the grandkids. Barrett got a giraffe on wheels. You can't really tell, but I noticed after I took this picture that his blanket has a giraffe on wheels on it! It was meant to be :)

Cheers to 7 Years!

Sunday (February 5th) was mine and Neil's 7th anniversary! That is way too crazy! We went out to dinner on Saturday night to a yummy little place called Eatery 1025 in Bountiful.

Afterwards, we went to a Ririe-Woodbury dance concert at the Capitol Theater (which Neil HATED!)

Since Sunday was the Superbowl AND our anniversary, Neil actually stayed with me to watch it instead of going out with his friends.

Daddy and Bear watching the game.

On another note- Barrett's other new BFF was born. My friend Nicole had her baby boy Elias on our anniversary. Now we just need to get these 3 little guys together!

Sleep

On Monday, 1/30/12, Barrett slept through the night!! I was in shock when I heard him cry at 5:15 the next morning and realized that was the only time he had cried all night! Unfortunately, it didn't last long. Tuesday and Wednesday night he woke up at 4:15, then 3:15 on Thursday, and Friday- I don't even want to talk about Friday! Hopefully we can get him back on his Monday night schedule asap!
To commemorate this onetime landmark event, I was planning on posting a couple pictures of him sleeping. As you can see, I lost control as I was looking back through all the pictures we have of him and I just kept posting!

And just because I think we kind of look alike as sleeping babies, here's me when I was 4 days old with my sister Berrie. I know, you could say all sleeping babies look the same, but this is the only time he resembles me even a little and I'm taking it!!
He slept in my arm the whole time I made this post! He's such a good boy!

Tie Dye

Yesterday, my friend Kacey had her baby boy (they didn't find out the gender and I am dying with excitement that it's a boy!). To celebrate Zeek's birthday, Bear wore his favorite tie-dyed onesie that Kacey made him!

We can't wait to meet you and hang out with you little Zeek!!

2 Month Info

Barrett had his 2 month appointment this week and he is doing great! He had his shots and only screamed for a minute- I actually cried more than he did!

Length: 23.7 inches (76th percentile)
Weight: 11 lbs 8 oz (40th percentile)
Head: 39.5 cm (33rd percentile)
Our dr wants us to take him to physical therapy though because his neck muscles are stronger on one side so he doesn't turn his head as often to the right and we need to fix that before it gets worse. I don't think he's going to like therapy, which means he'll scream a little bit and I'll cry a lot!

Our Aussie Week

Rhys wanted me to mention that when you say "Aussie" you need to pronounce it with zeds (Z's) instead of S's.
Anyways! My great friends from Australia came to stay with us this week and it was beyond awesome! We did tons of fun things- mostly revolving around food. Barrett has never been out and about so much in his LIFE!!
Luckily it snowed for them.
They loved it!
On MONDAY, we went to Jill's house for dinner so they could meet Rhys. My family has all met Georgy several times, but her fiance Rhys has never been to Utah until now!
The best part of the night was when Reagan snuck up to Rhys and asked him to show her his muscles! We all thought someone told her to say that, but she was just being a flirt! Rhys was embarrassed, but the rest of us loved it!
After dinner we went to cold stone- that reminds me, I still have my ice cream in the freezer!!
On TUESDAY, we went to Ogden so Rhys could do iFly. He's done it a ton actually and lots of real skydiving too, but he loves it and it's a lot cheaper here. This is him getting all suited up.
Rhys in the wind tunnel.
Me, Georgy, and Barrett just hung out and waited and watched.
On the way out of the iFly, we took some photobooth pictures. We probably should've been up a little higher and even a little more squished (if that were possible!).
We also stopped at Costa Vida on the way out.

That night we went out to Taste of India for dinner and then Marie Callendar's for pie for dessert!
Awwwww... Bear and his Australian uncle!

WEDNESDAY night, we went to Hires and the Jazz game.
We played the Toronto Raptors and even though we lost, it was a super fun game-it went into double overtime!!

THURSDAY we went up to Snow Basin so Rhys could snowboard. The most hilarious moment of this trip happened up here (also at Rhys' expense). When we first got there, we went into one of the lodges and Rhys asked a worker lady where he should go for hiring. The lady tells him he needs to go to another building and he can fill out an application there and she is so excited that "he brought his whole family!" (me, Barrett and Georgy were his whole family, I guess). Luckily I was standing there and although I'm laughing hysterically, I tell her that he means rentals. Another sales lady came over and tells the first lady that, "hiring" is a British, I mean, Australian thing". Anyway, we got it all sorted out so Rhys could rent his equipment rather than hire it, which would've made perfect sense if he had been in Australia. Ok- you probably had to be there, but I'm still laughing about it!

Georgy, me and Barrett waited in the lodge and ate, of course!

We went straight from the mountain down to Salt Lake to meet Neil at Rodizios.
On FRIDAY, we went out to Nordstrom and The Cheesecake Factory.
Unfortunately, our Aussie BFFs went to Disneyland next and we did not! We just didn't think it would be as fun (for anyone) to bring Bear and there's no way I could leave him behind for the whole weekend! I'm kicking myself now though!
We miss you already Rhys and Georgy, but we'll see you in October!!
