My Birthday Weekend

Friday morning my parents were heading out of town so they left me a birthday card and some cupcakes.  After the gym, me, Neil, and Barrett lit a few candles and sang happy birthday to me.

It was a tiny bit breezy, so then we went out to try to fly one of Barrett's new kites he got for Easter. This was at the end of Neil's run with it and it was about to crash.

Since it wasn't too windy, they had to run with it but it was really fun.  We went out again on Sunday when there was more wind and we could just stand there and fly it.

After the gym on Saturday, Bear helped me open my presents.  I got some new capris (maternity of course), some long overdue new sports bras, and a lulu gift card for future purchases.

Saturday night we went to Settebellos with these beauties and their husbands.  Minus Richard who couldn't make it last minute.

We really had the best time!

Neil was so sweet to order this delicious cake from Sweet Tooth Fairy.  He's the best!

The Goon

Over the weekend, we went to Lagoon (Bear calls it the goon) for the first time this year.  This was Bear's first time ever going and Neil and I haven't been for at least 3 years as well.
I think this is the first ride Barrett has ever been on by himself.  He was loving it at first and then I'm not sure if he got bored of it or scared, but towards the end, he was asking to get off.

This Jeep ride was a huge hit.  I'm really glad Neil will ride the rides with him- not that I could even if I wanted to right now!

Bear saw Bombora (a roller coaster) and wanted to go on it.  I told them both I thought it was too scary but they went on it anyway.   It was definitely too scary for him.  He didn't cry but he was hanging on to Neil and the bar for his life!  These pictures were after the ride was over and he felt safe again.

This one was too scary for him too. It just goes in a circle but it goes super fast and then slows down and goes super fast backwards as well!  You can see he wasn't that happy.

The swings were good.  I think he especially liked it because he got to be around other kids.  I think he'll like Lagoon a lot more when he gets to ride rides with his friends. Neil rode it too (he's on the right), I guess there weren't two swings closer together.  Watching any of these spinning rides made me so sick!

He liked this car ride too.

When we were in line for this car ride, he was talking to another boy in line and found out his last name was Johnson too.  So Barrett started singing "Everything is Johnson" to the tune of "Everything is Awesome" from the LEGO movie.  We thought it was pretty clever and hilarious.

We stopped at Taco Time for dinner on our way home.  We were so exhausted we couldn't even sit up to eat!

Easter Weekend

I saw an article in the newspaper about a month ago about this new place in Park City serving South African pocket sandwiches (called jaffles).  They sounded so good to me that I took a picture of the article so I could go there sometime.  On Friday, Neil and I made the drive to Park City to get us some jaffles at Jafflz.  Oh my gosh, I'm so glad we went!  I know they probably don't sound that great, but they really were.
We got 5 because I figured we probably weren't going to be going back anytime soon and I wanted to try a lot of them.  Neil got a lamb curry and a peach cobbler jaffle.  I got a bacon, egg, and cheese, a peanut butter and jelly, and a nutella and banana one!  YUMMMMM!
They're just little sandwiches made in this cast iron clamshell type thing.  Sounds pretty basic but I was super happy about them!  AND to top off my happiness, there was a sign that said if you liked Jafflz on Facebook you'd get a free sweet jaffle, so I did that and the girl gave me THREE free jaffles!!  She was so sweet, she said that since there were 3 of us eating (Neil, me, and the baby) we could get 3 for free.  Seriously, go to this place if you're ever near Park City.

Afterwards, we met up with my family at Connie and Craig's for the Easter egg hunt.    We're lucky that they're still generous enough to host a million people each year!  The kids all love going to their house because there is literally anything and everything fun to do there.

Max and Tink looking for their eggs and surprises.  And little Jakey on the tramp. He is so little and cute.

Reagan, Jed, and Lindy.

Liv.

Reags and Nick.

Bear, Lyla, and Cooper.

These cute "brothers."  Nick is always so good to play with Bear.
 Our little fam.

Sorting out the candy and money.  Grandma CC does a ton of work getting ready for this each year.

Rand sent me this cute picture he got of Bear with his awesome camera.  This kid loves sticks so much.

Saturday we dyed our eggs.

The fizzy colors are pretty fun!  Bear wanted to do all of them.  He definitely did the majority, but had to share a few with his cousins.

He made 9 or 10 eggs too and was very careful getting them in and out of the dyes.

I didn't even think to get a picture of any of the eggs we made. I guess I still could since they're just in the fridge.

Sunday morning, he got up and started looking for eggs.  His basket was hidden behind this table and chair where he hides every single day when he hears someone coming home.

One of the things in his Easter basket.

I think he liked finding the eggs best. Some were plastic and filled with candy, others were the hard-boiled ones we made.

He had to line them all up and count them, of course.  He loves counting things and he's really good at it.

Then they needed a little rest because Bear had woken up pretty early that day.

Oh and Neil bought me this humongous Reese's egg.  Super good!

Spring Break Buddies

Last week was spring break for my teacher friends, so we got to have some play dates.
We went to the park one day.

Swimming another day.
And to the gym.
We love when we get to play with these friends!
