Busy Weekend

Saturday was like, the craziest day for me and I thought I had planned it out pretty well but it definitely did not turn out like it was supposed to.  Here's the highlights though.
I went to Orem for Jeanette's baby shower.  Only was able to stay for a few minutes but it was such a cute party!

While I was at the baby shower, Neil took Barrett to Jason and Heather's house for Greyson's birthday party. (I copied this picture from Heather's instagram- hope that's ok!)

After the shower and bday party, I met Neil and Barrett at the Maverick Center to see Cirque du Soleil's Varekai.  I got this picture off of google.  This was for sure one of the best acts.

We had fun, I wish there wasn't a shadow on Bear's face in this picture.

He wanted his picture with the giant grizzly.

Sunday, we went to Kurt and Monica's for a little birthday party for Beck.  Monica texted me these pictures and they didn't come through very well, but that's ok.

Monday morning I came out from the gym to find that my car had been hit in the parking lot :(  I was really upset but the guy who hit me left a note with his real name and number and he has been extremely kind and apologetic.  I'm really glad he was an honest guy because I bet he very easily could've just left and it's going to cost a lot to get fixed.

Our Days

We do pretty much the same routine every day at our house; wake up, eat breakfast, get ready, go to the gym, come home, eat lunch, have a nap, etc.  I love our routine and it really makes my life easier.  It is really fun though, when we have other fun things going on, even if it changes up our routine a bit. (I'm not big on change generally)
He's wanted to get out his paints a couple times recently.

We got to have our neighbors, Roger and Sally, over for a few hours one day.  Roger is over a year younger than Barrett but he's really tall so I always think they're about the same age.  They actually played pretty good together this day.

Barrett was so excited to have baby Sally over.  When she cried, he did his best to try to comfort her and help her feel happier.  He really does love babies.  He feels my belly several times throughout the day and talks to his sister and asks about her.

Barrett always comes down to wake me up by yelling BOO!

He recently said his first Simpsons quote.  Let me preface this by telling you that he isn't allowed to watch The Simpsons yet but I had a 20 second clip on my phone that I had sent to my family so he saw that.  The clip was of Homer cleaning up the basement with a leaf blower, Marge telling him he had to throw out old calendars, etc and Homer says, "Are you mad woman!?" So that was Barrett's first Simpsons quote.  He said it to me when I asked him to do something, I thought it was funny.

We got a pretty big snowstorm earlier this month so we took advantage and played outside in it.  We haven't had too many chances to do that this year (which was fine by me, to be honest).  He helped me clear off my car.

With his purple boca hat on, this picture reminded me of when people have Bigfoot sightings.

My sister Shelley was in the hospital again recently for another bowel obstruction.  Luckily it was a short stay this time (Wednesday-Saturday).  We took this picture on Friday and she was feeling much better by then.

He calls dandelions "wishes." I don't know where he learned that but I love that he always wants to pick them and blow them.

He has gotten into rhyming lately and loves to try to rhyme words.

He says "dane it" all the time instead of "dang it".  Sometimes he'll say "dog gone it" which I guess he got from my mom?  I'm just glad he hasn't picked up on worse words yet!

My mom gave him his first CTR ring on Sunday.  He really likes it!

Swimming Lessons (yes, again)

I don't really know what to expect this summer with the new baby and how often we'll be getting out of the house so I put Bear in his first swimming lesson without me this month.  It's just 1 teacher to 6 kids (which seems like a bit much really), but he's doing well and really enjoys going.

One of the days when he was getting ready to get in the pool, he told me, "Last morning (the phrase he uses to describe anything that happened past tense), I held someone's hand... It was Ava's!"  I'm guessing the only girl in the class is named Ava, he was pretty excited that he held her hand!
These are super zoomed in phone pictures, so I know they're not great quality.
He does pretty good listening to his teacher but will often look at me to see if I'm watching before he decides to obey or not.
I feel like he isn't learning as much as he did in his first 2 rounds of lessons, but we'll keep it up and I'm sure he'll be taught to swim eventually.

Gluttony

We ate way too much all weekend!  It was pretty disgusting (but delicious) to be honest.
We went out with our friends to Rooster's in Ogden to celebrate mine, Diane's, and Michele's birthdays, which are all in April.  Todd (Michele's new beau), Michele, Diane, Bruce, me, Neil, Jen.

Diane brought these cupcakes for dessert.

We went to Wise Guys comedy club after dinner and it was actually really hilarious.  All of the comedians were really good!  The 3 birthday girls.  I am embarrassingly white next to Diane, who just got back from Cancun, and Michele, who I'm assuming has been tanning recently. Also I'm 5x their size :(

We met Jeanette and Jesse at Em's in Salt Lake for brunch.  My little brother and Jeanette's little brother both work there and it's a really nice place.  I've heard a lot about their brunch so we finally made plans to go.

33 Weeks

How Far Along:  33 Weeks
Size of Baby: My app tells me that she is now the size of a honeydew (the money melon) and weighs about 4.5 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: If I could find a pair of maternity gym shorts, I’d be quite happy!  I just have to wear a size or two bigger and then they’re kind of big in the legs, but what do ya do!?
Gender: Girl
Name: Nope, I can’t even tell you when Neil and I talked about it last and I feel pretty good about that.
Movement: She’s still got just enough room to do somersaults in there.  At my 30 week appt, she had turned her self head down, and at my 32 weeks appt, she was breech again.
Sleep: I do wake up a bit during the night, but I’m usually able to fall back to sleep pretty quickly. I have started getting calf cramps in the night (occasionally in the day too), but they’re much more mild compared to the ones I had with Barrett.  I’ll wake up and hurry and flex my feet and then just go right back to sleep without really even noticing it.  My hips bother me at night and get really sore too if I don’t have a pillow between my knees.
Exercise/Activity Level: Nothing’s really had to change here yet; still going to the gym but taking it easy.
Weight: I’m not avoiding this category due to a huge gain (although that will very likely be the case); I just really haven’t weighed myself in the last couple weeks. They weigh me at the doctor of course, but I am not counting that.
What I Miss: Breathing through my nose.  I started getting that dumb pregnancy congestion a few weeks ago and then the last week I’ve had a full on cold!  It’s totally wiped me out!
Cravings: I don’t know, Easter candy and a lot of super crappy food that’s making me super fat, I guess.
Symptoms: My back muscles get so tired with all this weight on the front of me!  My ribs are getting bothersome as well- anytime I bend or twist in any direction, my ribs dig into my tummy and it’s very uncomfortable.  I’m pretty sure I could get a couple of those removed and be just fine!
Weird Things: Last week was a bad week for migraines, I think I had one every day!  I can’t figure out a specific thing that seems to be triggering them.
Worries: I am worried about how I’m going to do ANYTHING with TWO kids!  How are we going to get out of the house or do anything fun!?
Best Moment of the Week(s): Barrett has really loved feeling my belly and talking to his baby sister lately.  He’s been really sweet and will just come up and put his hand on my belly throughout the day and ask if she’s kicking or sleeping.  He recently told me, "After my baby sister goes away, I'm going to get a baby brother." That was interesting...
Appointments This Week: Neil and I went in at 32 weeks and met with our 3rd doctor during this pregnancy and we loved him!  We’ll be sticking with him from now on! BTW, Neil has come to all but 1 of my doctor visits this pregnancy and he did the same with my first pregnancy.  I feel really lucky that he’s so supportive.
What I’m Looking Forward To: Getting lots of projects finished up around the house and being able to organize/clean/prepare for the little one.  Hopefully everything is actually done before she’s born, we’ve had some setbacks with the remodeling L
Something I've Learned/Realized: Being pregnant AND having a 3 year old AND remodeling a bathroom AND running a house is really hard and exhausting (having a cold doesn't help either!).  I usually only cook once a week (occasionally more if my Mom is working or out of town), but since my parents are on a long trip, I’ve had to do it every day on top of everything else and it is a lot of work!  I’m very grateful I don’t always have this much going on.  I’m also grateful Neil helps with anything I need him to!

Lagoon with Friends!

We went to Lagoon with the Becksteads last weekend and the boys had so much more fun riding rides together.  It was so fun to watch them.

It took a few minutes of arguing, but eventually they figured it out and took turns ringing the bell the whole ride.

Barrett's Plant

Barrett got a couple of seeds from his primary teacher one day when their lesson was on trees and plants or something.  I honestly wasn't sure what kind of seeds they were or if they'd even grow, but we planted them anyways just for fun.

I should've put an arrow on this picture when I added the date.  You can see a tiny green speck in the dirt; that's the plant.

He didn't want to take picture with the plant this day, but I couldn't believe how much it grew in one day!

I had a couple plants in my classroom when I taught school and they both died, but I've been having fun with these and have actually kept them alive!  I make sure one of us waters it every day and then I move it around the house each day to make sure it gets plenty of sunlight.  It's really been fun to see the little seeds grow.

My Birthday Weekend

Friday morning my parents were heading out of town so they left me a birthday card and some cupcakes.  After the gym, me, Neil, and Barrett lit a few candles and sang happy birthday to me.

It was a tiny bit breezy, so then we went out to try to fly one of Barrett's new kites he got for Easter. This was at the end of Neil's run with it and it was about to crash.

Since it wasn't too windy, they had to run with it but it was really fun.  We went out again on Sunday when there was more wind and we could just stand there and fly it.

After the gym on Saturday, Bear helped me open my presents.  I got some new capris (maternity of course), some long overdue new sports bras, and a lulu gift card for future purchases.

Saturday night we went to Settebellos with these beauties and their husbands.  Minus Richard who couldn't make it last minute.

We really had the best time!

Neil was so sweet to order this delicious cake from Sweet Tooth Fairy.  He's the best!
