Too Much Fun

We had a very fun filled weekend!  Friday afternoon we went to the trampoline park with Kelsey and her kids.  Eden and Hadlee hung out together of course.

Kelsey had the great idea to bring her little brother Skyler to jump with the kids.  They had so much fun with him! Rylee, Skyler, Bear, Tyce, and their cousin Cohen.

I was holding Hadlee and she just fell asleep on me!  So sweet!

Bear tried rock climbing for the first time ever, I think.

Rylee was amazing and made it all the way to the top!

Neil and I got to go to dinner at Blue Lemon and do a little shopping before heading to see Brian Regan's comedy routine.  It was hilarious!  I seriously wanted to go again the next night!

Bear and Lala have been hooked on March Madness.

Bear and Eli have had a basketball class this month.

We love Coach Amy, she's coached his basketball class as well as his Sports class that they did twice.

We spent Sunday morning at Boondocks and had it all to ourselves.

Monday we met up with Kelsey and Missy at the Aquarium.  It was mine and Bear's first time there and we liked it! I'm still not sure if this was supposed to do something when he touched it or what.

Bear, Rylee, Tyce, Brinley.

Bear tried so hard to touch a stingray or a starfish but they were so much deeper than they seemed.

There's a really neat play area there too.

Eden didn't care much for the aquarium as she would have rather been at home getting her naps but she did enjoy this little spot for a few minutes.

We went to Zupas for lunch after.  The kids had their own table and were slightly crazy.

Barrett picked out a fun board game from the aquarium called Shark Mania.  We brought it home and played it probably 20 times!

Barrett's First Purchase

The other day I had ordered something from Amazon and left the page open.  Bear saw this Easter toy on the screen and became completely fascinated with it.  He told me he wanted it and I told him he'd have to buy it with his own money. He said he still wanted it even after I suggested he look at other toys or think about saving it to go to Disneyland again or something like that.
He was set on getting this toy and after his nap was still thinking about it and asking about it.

So we opened up his piggy bank and counted out $10.99 so he could buy this toy.  His first purchase with his own money!

The package arrived on St. Patrick's Day and he was excited!

He seems pretty happy with his new toy and even better, he is happy to share it with Eden (since it's definitely geared toward her age anyways).

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day was a pretty normal day with a little more green than usual.   I was making eggs like I usually do when I decided to add some green to them.  I called Bear over to come eat his breakfast and I recorded his reaction.  He was not pleased.  He did NOT ask for green eggs or spinach and he let me know it!  This is a screenshot from the video I took.  I made him eat one bite and then I got him some cereal.

He was okay with green milk though.  It was magic milk!  It came out of the carton white but turned green in his cup!

Our green attire.  Bear didn't want to wear green because he wanted to get pinched but wore what I got out for him anyways because he didn't want to go pick something else I guess.  I think he wore the same shirt last year, it's the only green thing he owns!

I forgot she had been given a bib!

I also attempted some magic pudding.  It's white in the bowl and then you add some of our magic milk to turn it green.  Bear thought it was disgusting.  Oh well.   This is as into it as I get, so...

9 Months

Eden has started doing an annoyed/frustrated grunt that I find funny.  And she will SCREAM if you're not doing what she wants you to!

She has learned the art of arching her back to avoid getting in the car seat or on the changing table.

She loves to try to reach down and get a hold of anything she can while I'm changing her diaper.  It's not my favorite thing she does.

Sometimes she sleeps on her tummy.

I call her bubby girl, tiny girl, or tiny angel.
She will point to things she wants or places she wants you to go.
She still nurses every 3-4 hours.
She's not too picky with what baby food I give her, she'll eat whatever I choose although she's not particularly fond of the chunky baby food yet, but she'll eat chunks of fruit or whatever.

It's really no wonder she's so small, she still sits up everything she eats/drinks.  You would not BELIEVE my laundry piles!

We tried out the jumper the other day.  It went from this
to this in about 5 seconds.

Right after we got home from Disneyland, I decided to wean her off her binky for the majority of the day (not totally sure why I did that to be honest).  She gets it now only at naps and bedtimes, but she did well with the transition.
Consequently, she talks a lot more now! She has the sweetest voice on the planet.

She scoots on her back or her bum or she'll roll around to get what/where she wants but she doesn't crawl yet.
She will often scoot around in pigeon pose- getting closer to being up on all fours. I'm not in any rush for that to happen though.

Yesterday she did get up on her knees for just a second, all by herself!~

Pops gave her a drink from a glass the other day and she did pretty well with that.

She likes to make a trumpet/elephant noise.
Kind of says "up" it's more like "puh"

Starting to dance.
Will sometimes give those precious open mouth baby kisses.

Her top two teeth are trying to come through.

She's getting good at eating finger foods.

She waves.  Mostly she just sticks her arm in the air Nazi style when we tell her to wave bye bye, but it's a wave to her!

She was starting to do pretty well at night and only waking up once or twice.  Ever since we came back from Disneyland she's done very poorly sleeping at night and is up at least twice, but usually about every 2 hours!  It's rough!

Measuring at
26 inches (9th percentile)
14 lbs 9 oz (3rd percentile)
44 cm head (54th percentile)

She is small but growing; doc's not worried and neither am I!

Red Rocks Gymnastics

I got some free tickets to the University of Utah gymnastics meet against Georgia last Saturday.  Our seats were GA and we didn't get there very early, so they weren't the best, but it was still way fun!
We tried a new restaurant on our way down, Spitz on Broadway.  It was pretty good but I'm not dying to go back.  Fun to try new things though.  Eden was there somewhere too, probably in her carseat.  And that's my mom's hand holding the pita strip.

See, we were almost to the very top, but it was still so cool to watch.   The Utes have an incredible team!  My parents aren't in the picture because my mom was out giving my dad his ticket to get in, but they came with us.

Tink's Broken Arm

Last week, Tink was out at recess when she tripped and broke her arm.  She went in to the teacher who told her to go call her mom, but because it was a substitute teacher, she didn't give her a hall or phone pass or whatever she needed so Tink didn't go down to the office.  (Obviously the office would've let her call even without any sort of pass but she didn't go anyway).  So she stayed the rest of the day at school (!!!) and then WALKED home!  Poor girl!
Jill got her to the doctor right away of course and she had broken both the radius and ulna BUT luckily did not need surgery.

She got a hard cast on it on Friday when she saw the specialist.

That was just a funny coincidence that I happened to be wearing a grey stripe top and black bottoms again!

The Weeknd

Our weekend consisted of William's baptism.  I did not even get any pictures of William!  Actually, I really only took pictures of Eden...

And then happened to also have this snap at the house.

I took Barrett to Zootopia, we loved it.

It was Tink's and Reagan's birthday this week so we went for cake and ice cream at their house.

Eden got a balloon, she loves it.

 And it snowed again.

Costume Change

Bear's been playing in some costumes lately and it's been fun.  The Transformers pic was taken when the Chilton's were still here because he insisted on wearing it over to their house.

Back to Life

Like I said, we're back to our everyday routines around here.  The most exciting thing lately is that the pizza dough exploded in the the fridge.  Just kidding, I have 2 young kids, there's always loads more excitement and surprises than that!

Bear can do these all by himself now.  I was really proud of him.

Eden gets fresh fruits and veggies in her little mesh biter bag things now and she loves them!

I'll often be carrying Eden around in one of my carriers.  I think this one is a Mama Mermaid ring sling (how cute is that brand name!?) straight from Australia.  I think she's liking this carrier better than the Solly now that she's older because she can sit on my hip and look around better.  It's not as comfy as my Solly wrap, but it works for short time periods.  Can't wait for my Tula though!!
I love her tongue-out smile.

I enlisted Barrett's help to feed Eden the other day while I finished getting his lunch ready.  He was happy to help.  This first picture, they both look a little unsure of what's going on...

But they got the hang of it- even if half of it ended up on her bib!
I asked him to help again this morning and I had to try really hard not to laugh as Barrett was literally gagging at the site and smell of her oatmeal.  He could not deal with it.  I took over again just in time; I don't need to clean up anymore messes than I already do!

Neil and I had a fun date night with these babes and Bruce and Todd too.  We were celebrating Todd's birthday so we went out to eat at Sonora Grill in Ogden.
