Go Neil!

Neil won the Manager of the Year award at his work recently. Fidelity Investments almost never does anything that spouses are invited to, but since this was a big deal, I got to come! He was 1 of only 13 to win the award out of the hundreds (maybe more) of people that were eligible to win it.
This is the only picture I have of us. I'm hoping Neil will be able to get his hands on the pictures that were taken of us by the photographers there.
It was a fun night out and it was nice to actually get to meet a few of the people he's been talking about for the last 7 years!

4 February Birthdays

Brittany's, Sean's, and Stefanie's birthdays are all 4 days apart so we had a lot of celebrating to do.
Taylor was playing his guitar for Barrett and he was totally into it- you can't tell in this picture because at this point he's just totally diggin Britt.
Here's when he was loving the music.

Bear doesn't usually get to play with Tay and he was really having a blast with him!

Barrett and Pops love their nap time.

Here's Brittany's birthday party.
She had banana cream pie.

Sean's party shortly thereafter.
He had homemade ice cream and chocolate chip cookies.
Stef's birthday was next, but she wasn't in Utah for it. Dang it!
Shelley just had her birthday. Her kids brought their little Atari thing over but Shelley's the one who was playing it.

mmmm.... chocolate mint pie!

People are always saying that they want to be hidden in a suitcase and go on vacations with others.
Now we know it's a possibility...
If you're a very small 7 year old.

Little Sitters

Barrett is so lucky to have so many cousins that adore him!
Lindsay and Alex wanted to have a nap in the same room as Barrett to make sure he was okay.

Tinkerbell checked out this book from her school library to read to Barrett.

Livvie cuddled Barrett to sleep while watching their favorite show, The Simpsons

1st Play Date

Barrett and I had our first play date this week. My 2 friends from work both had their babies earlier this month and we finally got to get them all together! Nicole is hilarious and also a math teacher and she figured out that the probability of us all having boys was only 12.5%. Interesting.
Here's Nicole with baby Elias Timothy- only 2 1/2 weeks old.

Kacey with baby Zeek Henry- only 3 weeks old.

All 3 of us with our 3 baby boys. Bear is almost 3 months old and I can't even remember him being as tiny as Eli and Zeek!

It was so fun to see them together. Zeek and Eli are only 4 days apart.

Barrett didn't even notice the other 2 kids yet- even when Elias was cuddling up to him.

Don and LaLa had Bear laughing so hard the other night! It was ridiculously cute!

Salt Lake City 2002 Olympics

You're probably already aware that this year is the 10th anniversary of the SLC Olympics. They're doing quite a few things to celebrate this including rebroadcasting the opening ceremonies, relighting the torch, having some of the ice skaters come back to do a show, and having Mitt Romney come back to town.
I wish I would've done more when the Olympics were here, I was 17 and cared more about other things I guess. I was lucky enough to go to the speed skating event and I think that's when Apolo won the gold and I also got to go to a concert (I don't remember which one), but I feel I should've done more.
Anyways, one of the very coolest things about the Olympics is that both of my parents were nominated and chosen to be torch bearers. I searched everywhere for pictures of them, but I only found one on a computer- the others are on my dad's wall with his torch.

I had to take a picture of my mom's picture (yes, I know you can see me in the reflection, never mind that!)
Our family.

Dad ran it in Logan. They didn't get to pass off to each other (that would have been AMAZING) but they both ran it the same night. Very cool!
Another great memory of the Olympics is when we were eating at Hire's and Mitt Romney was there too. My mom tapped him on the shoulder as he was paying and said, "Great job, Mitt!" He looked at Jill who gave him the thumbs up and then looked at all of us with a "You guys are idiots" smile. You had to be there to think it was as hilarious as we do, but it was classic!

My Valentines

Happy Valentines Day to my 2 sweet boys!

Barrett got his first valentine this year in the mail from Pops and LaLa.

Valentine's Day is my Grandma Roselyn's birthday. She is 85 this year- what an incredible woman!
My aunt Kathy had her annual GiGi open house and it was a hit!

HH

Barrett has gotten really into holding hands these days.

Coincidentally, so have we.

Mt. Kilimanjaro

My amazing parents just got back from Africa where they successfully climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The tour company they went with carried all this stuff on their heads all the way up the mountain.

It included all the pots, pans, plates, and fresh food for the entire trip! Oh and water!

Here's my parents at the top of the massive mountain.

Over 19,000 feet in elevation!

After they came back down the mountain, they went on a Safari where they saw tons of animals. And lots of them were babies like this little elephant.

They brought back cute little African animal toys for all the grandkids. Barrett got a giraffe on wheels. You can't really tell, but I noticed after I took this picture that his blanket has a giraffe on wheels on it! It was meant to be :)

Cheers to 7 Years!

Sunday (February 5th) was mine and Neil's 7th anniversary! That is way too crazy! We went out to dinner on Saturday night to a yummy little place called Eatery 1025 in Bountiful.

Afterwards, we went to a Ririe-Woodbury dance concert at the Capitol Theater (which Neil HATED!)

Since Sunday was the Superbowl AND our anniversary, Neil actually stayed with me to watch it instead of going out with his friends.

Daddy and Bear watching the game.

On another note- Barrett's other new BFF was born. My friend Nicole had her baby boy Elias on our anniversary. Now we just need to get these 3 little guys together!
