The Triple Threat
September 27, 2011
32 Weeks
Size of Baby: The doc told me yesterday that he is a big baby and weighs about 4 pounds! Neil was glad about that, but I’m pretty nervous about it!
Maternity Clothes: I’m even getting too big for these now but I really don’t want to buy more maternity clothes to last me the last 8 or so weeks.
Gender: Nothing’s changed (LUCKILY!)
Name: I hope he’ll have one by the time he’s born! Honestly, we haven’t even talked about it for weeks. I guess we’re just hoping the name thing figures itself out?
Movement: He is so active and I am so grateful he is! I think he does it to ease my mind and make sure I know that everything’s okay since I’m a bit of a worrier. He gets hiccups all the time too (or at least that’s what I assume is going on in there)
Sleep: I’m getting less and less sleep the bigger I get- I just can’t get comfortable no matter which way I turn
What I Miss: Bleaching my teeth and tanning. Not that I did either very often, but the fact that I CAN’T now makes me want to.
Cravings: Fresh peaches and cinnamon toast (not together of course). I thought I would eat a lot more junk food than I do. I think I craved sugar/chocolate more when I wasn’t pregnant than I do now.
Symptoms: My nose runs a lot more these days even when I’m not sick or having allergies. I also burp ALL the time and I STILL have more zits than most teenagers (Pregnancy just makes me SO attractive, doesn’t it!?) I thought for a while I had cracked or bruised ribs (on my left side, of course), but those seemed to have gotten mostly better for the time being.
Weird Things: I love it when people touch my stomach. I don’t think this is weird, but the majority of people will comment on how much they hated for others to touch their (or their wife’s) big pregnant belly. I think it’s sweet.
Worries: I am completely terrified that my water is going to break at school or at the gym. I don’t even know what I would do! That fear right there is enough to make me opt for a C-section!
Best Moment of the Week(s): We bought the nursery furniture. Luckily we went when we did because it’ll take 4-6 weeks to get in. Although I guess that doesn’t matter too much anyways because he’ll be in a bassinet for a while when he first comes home. I also FINALLY finished the baby blanket I started making when I found out it was a boy.
Appointments This Week: Went in yesterday and everything with the baby is looking good.
What I’m looking forward to: Slightly cooler temperatures again. I think I retain more and more heat every day. I’m pretty sure there’s a direct correlation between my increase in size and my increase in temperature.
Something I've Learned/Realized: People have no tact. People are constantly staring at my stomach and only my stomach, which I hate because I am SO self conscious about the way I look. (I know it’s weird that I don’t mind for people to touch my stomach, but I don’t want them to look at it). None the less, the bigger I get, the more insecure I get.

New York, New York

As you can see the fountains representing to the twin towers are massive.
Neil said this is one of the coolest things in NYC. It is called Highline and is an old "el" train that was decommissioned. Rather than leave the elevated rails, the city turned them into an elevated garden. The tracks were covered in cement and all sorts of plant were placed along the sides. It is quite long and is still being built.September 18, 2011

In Remembrance
We ate at NYPD pizza, watched one of the many documentaries on TV about 9/11, and my parents got out the firetruck for the kids to play on. Okay, so maybe these things were more coincidental than I'd like to admit... September 8, 2011

Hello 3rd Trimester!!
How Far Along: 28 ½ weeks! Today is actually my 200th day of being pregnant!
Size of Baby: He’s the size of a small head of cabbage and weighs just under 3 pounds.
Maternity Clothes: Ya know how you always think you have nothing to wear even if you have a whole closet full of stuff? Well, that gets a million times worse when you’re pregnant!
Gender: XY
Name: Still working on it.
Movement: All the time and I LOVE it!
Sleep: Baby’s helping me get less and less sleep all the time so I’m ready for when he gets here and I never get to sleep ever again! I do hate the fact that I actually have to wake up to move and adjust in the night, I hope that goes away when I’m not so big (assuming there will be a day when I’m not so big!)
What I Miss: Bending over. I have an overweight friend at work named Jason and one time he told me that he has to hold his breath to put on his shoes. I felt so bad for him at the time but now I can totally sympathize with him- it’s horrible!
Cravings: Tomatoes and especially tomato juice- I LOVE this stuff lately!!
Symptoms: Horrible feet and calf cramps, especially when I move at night. I feel like I’ve started waddling now instead of walking. My lower back bones still hurt regularly (I still think it’s my SI joint and not sciatica) and now my upper back muscles have started getting super sore. I could really use a massage about now! I’m getting Braxton Hicks contractions now too. It really grosses me out that I barely have to bend forward before my boobs touch the top of my stomach!
Weird Things: Obviously my baby hears me talk all day, so he’s getting to know my voice, but I’ve only actually talked to him once or twice- outloud anyways. I talk to him all day long in my head. I figure that since we’re in the same body, he can probably hear my thoughts, I don’t know why I think that, but I’m pretty sure it’s true :)
Worries: Finding a long-term sub that can teach my 7 different subjects and then getting everything ready for him or her PLUS trying to prepare things for the time that I am still at school!! I don’t know how I’m going to have it all done by the time the baby’s born.
Best Moment of the Week: Neil's been home with me ALL week this week! He’s been out of town for the last 3 and only comes home for a day or two on the weekends :(
Appointments This Week: We went in on Wednesday and everything is looking great. My baby boy is growing perfectly!
What I’m looking forward to: Deciding on a name (which might never happen), setting up his nursery (that also might not happen- that room has gotten so crammed with stuff and it’ll take so much energy to actually organize it all!), and seeing what my little guy's face looks like!
Something I've Learned/Realized: Pregnancy is so much harder than I ever expected. It’s obviously very physically demanding and difficult (and I’m having a relatively easy pregnancy), but I had no idea how emotionally tough it is too!

I did my glucose test this week, I haven't heard if I passed yet or not. It wasn't as bad as people said, the drink wasn't as sugary as I'd hoped either. I wanted it to be like pure sugar kool-aid!
